As for your first paragraph, I don't know. Being one that " crossed over" believe me we, the pilots of UCH, spend a lot of energy complaining about what is different between the two sub airlines. Believe it or not there is a lot that is the same. The further away from the merger we get, the more we cross over the better off we will all be.

I heard an interesting analogy explaining our merger. Airline A brought a Porsche to the merger. Airline B brought a top of the line Land Rover to the merger. Our idiots management team thought " hey I like that car but the tires on that land rover are better...let's put them on the Porsche. ( best from both airlines right??.). Obviously it didn't work.

Yes I am using the DC Pro X. They sell them at the stop over store in IAH. They are $637. I am quite happy with them. The battery pack takes two AA batteries and lasts for about a month. I have flown with a few that had the telex headset which has no battery pack but in my opinion they are not as quiet or comfortable. Also they have the foam over the mike so the folks chiming in on this thread are happy with me.

Looking for the like button.

Eaglesview: I started out with plenty of regard and appreciation for the UAL side. And my current frustration is not centered on SLI or anything personal. I have growing contempt for Flt ops mgt, in particular with regard to the 756/76T oversight and the complete disregard for CAL common practices. Let's not air that here.

With specific regard to this thread: Each time, and in all ways, that our airline is run down by others (especially SWA) a competeing opinion should be offered. We're not doing ourselves any favors by trying to take the high road or deferring it to some form of professionalism. That SWA commercial that claims they "fly the big planes" should be matched with a UAL commercial that shows the size comparison of our wide bodies what a first class seat looks like. We'll be chastised mercilessly by them for it, but it's their own exact behavior when they go to bat for their airline.

I agree with bold, underlined point. That's what healthy competition is all about. RE: the rest-boo f*cking hoo!

Remember the AWA mosh pit adds of the 90's. Couldn't get more insulting (or funny) than those. I'm not sure what SWAs response was back then but I'm certain both sides benefited from the outcome. That's what it's all about. SWAs not United or vice versa. Different products, sometimes same customers. Some, never.

Like Tony Soprano told Phil Leotardo, "there's enough money to go around for everyone."

Thank you!!!!! There is nothing healthy about the UAL and ALPA mentalities. There are no rules in a knife fight.

Please get them to do that^^^^

It'll be fun

Getting back to the original post.......you would think the UAL pilots would hear their fellow flights, hear how awful they sound, and tell their flight ops people to do something about it.

We sent and email to see if they could provide some cheese with your whine and were just waiting for a response.

Sure let's air it out here... What do you mean by the first paragraph? Give me an example. As a person having worked on both sides I am very curious.

Special airports. Ex: Bogota requires thrust reverse and anti skid for dispatch. Or at least it currently does, sUAL pilot mgrs think it's superfluous. They can't get Sabre to recognize it properly (which ought to be an easy fix), and instead of keeping it a requirement would rather make it acceptable on a pilot to pilot basis. Which I think is ridiculous, but sUAL guys LOVE to refuse airplanes so much it seems even the mgt pilots want to create more opportunities to do it! Our reliability in South America will plummet and we'll be out if there before we know it. Which also seems like part of the plan.* I swear every single damn thing we did that made money sUAL can not wait to get rid of. ASAP.

So you not only have time at UAL and CAL, but also EAL. How did EAL do it?

*It doesn't seem like the sUAL want to stay in business. Seriously, like they think passengers will simply put up with chronically late/cancelled flights. I used to think they were trying to hold the line on properly maintained airplanes. I've learned that's not the case, at all. It's about their lost pension. Which sucks, but this BS isn't going to get it back.

It's best I don't even reply. All comical Hogwash.

Well F u then chump!! Cause that's as close to the gospel truth as you'll get. You and yours don't know whether to sh1t or go blind! I've never seen a larger group of empty uniforms than the sUAL guys. Proof?! How much training does it take to put a sUAL pilot into a sCAL position? It's 5 days for you to do my job, and TWO for me to do yours. Dwell on that for a while and then get back to me.

What a F-ing joke!!!

Folks, perfect example of a sUAL guy. Asks for an answer, chicken sh!ts out when it doesn't stroke the brain surgeon ego. Do NOT go to work for these sUAL idiots guys. Don't apply, don't ask don't even consider. They are clueless!! Until the airplanes are repainted "Continental" and the sUAL stink is off this place, do not go to work here.

Add to that a dig about them finally getting their big boy pants, and going "international."

Flop, you are a moron. For some reason those of us lacking the wood block chip you carry get along fine with those dastardly brain surgeons. I'm former L-CAL but could care less cause times have changed. CAL under Sismek sucked as well. Move on.

I have to agree with the above. I have flown with former Cal, ual and post merger folks. I have not had any trouble with any of them. All are quite professional.

I do not agree with most most of what Flop says but he is not a moron. He actully very good at sparring ..

Now you on the other hand, Nimtz. You are not only an idiot, your a complete azz.

Calling you a Moron , is an insult to all Morons .

You are calling someone an idiot and you don't know the difference between your and you're.........that's funny, I don't care who you are!!

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that one's posts on FI after a solid bender never look brilliant once the fog burns off. Sorry about the 1-2-3 rule going ghost.

United pilots -- listen to your fellow UAL pilot's transmissions. Please note how awful their transmissions sound due to extreme background noise and hissing. Yes....that's how you sound. Please request from your flight ops department whatever it takes to correct the problem, you guys are killing our ears.

Thanks.

Problem as good as solved! United Airlines flight ops does whatever the pilots recommend.

You are such a tool.

Sig 6000,

It's apparent you don't fly at flight levels or where UAL flies or fly in and out of airports where UAL flies or you'd know what I am talking about. If you ever had a UAL flight just ahead or behind you for two hours and have to listen to all the hissing background noise everytime they transmit, you might understand. Even the UAL guys have acknowledged it to me. It's apparent their microphones don't have a filter sponge-like thing on their microphones to filter out the background noise.

Love,

Tool

If you say so...

UAL airplanes are all out fitted with Plantronic head sets, and a hand mic most of which are telex.

It's not UAL specific the background noise and if it's such a burden, may I suggest the VOL knob for you. It's adjustable.

You should hurry up and leave before we cause the doors to close. Quick save yourself before it's too late.

Why did we change a person-to-person MEC and LEC(S) to a worthless PDR system waiting almost a month for a response? Why do we stay downtown with a 14 hr layover? Why do we have a system staffing bid every month? Why are we so ridiculously adamant about a POS crew meal we take up pages and pages of diatribe in union blast mails? We do we still have pilots defending mini hubs all in the namesake of continuity and ease of use instead of revenue? Why do we bitch and moan when route planning changes, reduces, or modifies routes and fleets just because "we used to make money on that route or with that aircraft"? Why does our own supposed union still have a desire to attack and sue the other half of the pilot group for "******************** THAT NEVER BELONGED TO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE"?

Doors closing, from an CAL perspective, I see us moving down that road. The problem is from a UAL perspective, you see nothing but cash galore and a desire to return to the 90's heyday. I'm guessing that almost 3000 furloughs, 100+ parked aircraft and almost a decade in BK just isn't enough to make UAL recognize that the way you used to do things just isn't going to fly anymore.

As one poster put it earlier in this thread, for the next decade this place is going to suck ass, at least personal wise and if we keep up the definition of insanity, a miserable place income wise.
