After that abomination of an SLI dream shot from the SCAL side I cannot IN GOOD FAITH, even acknowledge that the CAL Proposal is any more than an extreme marker, a tent post as it were, from which they hope to move towards some unknown center. It is disingenuous, destructive, and outrageous to believe that a UAL pilot with 18 years LONGEVITY, 9 years as a NB Captain and 6 years as a WB FO (which are basically the same), should be placed JUNIOR to a CAL 2006 pilot who is a NEW Captain NOW (on the backs of UAL pilots) but who was nowhere close in 2010?

In 2010, he had 4 years LONGEVITY, I had 15 years.
In 2010, he was an FO, I was a Captain.
The CAL list places me on the ISL MORE THAN 100% MORE numbers down the list....telling me that my longevity, career expectations and status and category are WORSE THAN MORE THAN 50% of the CAL pilots.

It is a joke, an insult, an affront, an abomination, a disgrace, a......you name it!

CAL just does not get the damage their games are causing. Believe me, if ANYTHING CLOSE TO THE CAL PROPOSAL survives, things are going to get VERY UGLY. EVERY Captain had better bring a slew of NASA Reports with him, because NO UAL PILOT will help him out EVER!

If you guys want to ACT like sca&$....stealing our jobs and our careers.....then you WILL be treated like them. BANK ON IT!

So, it's under Scope? How did that particular clause get there? Was there a huge battle over it? How did such a thing come to be? I'm sure that it just wasn't included as standard Scope boilerplate.

What is the history? Did SWA management want to operate RJs and SWAPA held firm? What year did that get into your Scope clause?

The reason that I ask is not to create strife or get into the SWA vs. THE WORLD fight. I'm interested because it appears to me that SWA management decided a long time ago that they were not interested in feeders. It doesn't fit their business model and they have been quite successful without them.

It seems to me that some people on here feel that SWAPA won a hard fought battle to keep RJ's out of SWA. I don't think that there ever was a battle. It looks to me like SWA management never cared about the RJ issue. I could be wrong. Enlighten me, please.

Reminder: The first 1000 or so pilots hired after 1987 at L-UAL, were very much hired to fill the positions made vacant by UAL ALPA backstabbing the Frontier pilots. (took the 737s and not one of the pilots) In fact that sustained a great deal of hiring for quite a while at L-UAL. So that right there is where a lot of this longevity disparity comes from, and it is especially pertinent because the Frontier pilots ended up at L-CAL.

The problem with that line of thinking is the scabs were out for themselves or revenge against ALPA. A lot of former ALPA members on that list which gives one pause as to why.

In comparison, the pathetic thing about the senior cadre on the LUAL side was the participation and destruction of fellow union brothers and sisters at Frontier while espousing union ethics and values all of these years wearing that worthless pin. Might I further add the backstabbing of your retirees in later years?

These other examples are not to much different than the first from LCAL and as far as I am concerned almost as despicable.

If those 539 had been at CAL, they would be on the list. LUAL counts our pilots that never turned a wheel but give a pass to theirs that never did. By my math, LUAL has far more pilots that crossed a picket line.

Here's is how we ought to do things at the new airline. Let's just say if you're hired in the 80's, you're a scab. OR, maybe we ought to drop the whole idea of who is and is not a scab entirely? I'm tired of threading that needle. The L-UAL furloughs and the junior CAL have all had things 10 times worse than any scab or non scab hired in the 80's ever did. I'm sick and tired of hearing about them or from them and I don't care any less or more for them whether they are on a list or not. Get them out of the way and get the pilots who've really been screwed moved up.

As for the rest you have to get your numbers straight. The 539 are scabs ie they did turn a wheel. The group I think you are referring to is the 550 which I would say about half of them would have crossed.

If those 570 had been at CAL, they would be on the Master List. Anybody who started class at CAL in '83 to '85 during the strike is a scab. At LUAL during their strike, you were only a scab if you turned a wheel.

That being said, which airline currently has more scabs per the LCAL definition?

I found it surprising that the LCAL definition was more strict than those "hardcore" unionists at UAL. Guess you can't believe much of what you hear through the grapevine.
