Yeah, I read the post. Blah, blah, blah, I believe strongly that AAI pilots should be grateful to be stapled, blah, blah, blah. Then you agree with a poster that points out that ther were no where near the posts of this type with NW/DL or UAL/CAL. Good luck with your personal mission of dealing with it, sounds like you will need it in overcoming your "personal opinion".

I think you should call up SWAPA and ask them if they want this. Take a look at your next door neighborAMR...nothing but bad karma. What company do you want to compete against Delta in Hotlanta...divide SWA or a united SWA?

I completely agree and as I said I expect us to all come to an agreement, have smores around the campfire, have group hugs and then get down to work.

58% of the TWA pilots were stapled. Some of the stapled pilots were captains.
The TWA pilots not stapled were integrated from the BOTTOM of the AA pilot seniority list at a ratio of 1 TWA pilot to 8.11 AA pilots. Most of the pilots furloughed after 911 were former TWA pilots including some hired at TWA in 1988.
The side letter called “Supplement CC” allows some former TWA pilots to fly captain out of seniority in STL.

So you are partially correct, there are some former TWA pilots flying captain.

From the history of arbitrations over the last few decades....DOH is most likely the worst case scenario for Airtran pilots. That is factual info from dozens of arbitrations (involving non-bankrupt carriers) over the years. I kinda doubt that Gary Kelly wants to downgrade almost 400 Airtran captains (most are on the 717), and upgrade pilots to fill those positions. That costs lots of money for no rational business reason.....Oh and by the way history shows that arbitrators always have kept pilots in their same seats. Can history be changed, yeah. So anything is possible. I'm a bit concerned that many SW pilots have not been educated on the history of arbitrator's decisions of the last few decades, and they may be expecting something that could be unlikely. I'm not trying to be biased or militant but there is a precedent set over the last few decades. Those will be factors as in any precedent in the world of law. I could be wrong too....who knows, anything could happen.

I for one hope the two MC's can work something out. If not, (and especially because this orig thread is referring to the swapaluv video) then by all means send it to a neutral panel of arbitrators and let them decide whats fair and equitable. But whatever their outcome, live with it and move on.

Of course my pick for Jar Jar Binks is Bob Dylan.......constant non sensical gibberish .... Gary Kelly is Obe-Wan I'm sure. The BMT would have to be storm troopers or something. You know what ..... You're right..... I meant to post this about the Guadalupe Express video. There are so many SWA threads its hard to keep track. I saw both videos. The Swapa Luv explaining the deal didn't offend me either. Don't you agree though? We need a little more funny on this board.

I just watched the Swapa luv video and expected to be shocked after reading this thread. I didn't see anything on there that wasn't directly out of the history books or out of the SEC filed on September 26th.

I think it was a fair representation of the facts about how the transaction will be accomplished. I hope that those who say they were offended get over it. It didn't appear to be anything more than an education video about the acquisition and I highly doubt it was meant to offend.

Lets be reasonable, come to a negotiated deal everyone can live with, and press on with a new stronger SWA.
