I'm confused 9Capt. Then why were MOST of the AirTran pilots overly excited about being purchased by Southwest?
Was it..
A- Getting SW pay and work rules vs. what you had?
B- Getting rid of your horrible management team?
C- Working for a more stable company with a long history of success?
D- All of the above.
How many AirTran pilots were stapled below them? I forget?
That's hilarious PCL.
So you would have liked more seniority AND to almost double your salary
So why did you leave pinnacle for air tran PCL?
You had a lot more seniority there....
Yeah how did that work out for him? Now he will be gone. I bet if I set up an account for charity he would have donated all the extra money. Right! So AAI was your idea of job security?
Primarily QOL issues. Being based at home means everything. Not to mention that there is next to zero job security when your airplanes have some other company's name painted on the side with the words "connection" or "link" appended.
And that's it?
Money and contract aren't part of QOL?
SWA doesn't offer better job security than air tran?
Did you ever think that your contract demands and 95% strike vote led directly to you being sold?
Do you think your priorities are the priorities of most pilots?
I agree SWAPA would never strike, but I believe the company valued our goodwill...
FYI,
SWAPA did have a full up strike vote back in 1989.
there are 1700 "new" swapa pilots that i bet would cross a swapa picket line in a heartbeat. they feel no loyalty to swapa, so you can forget about any more strike threats going forward. it is just a byproduct of all the LUV we have felt.

This is crap.
Scabs cross picket lines, not pissed off former AirTran guys. Especially not guys who used to run their union. You've just insulted every AirTran guy out there; do you really think the'd all become scabs, just to spite SWAPA? This may very well go down in FI history as the most universally-understood stupid thing ever asserted on this forum.
Bubba
i hope we never have to find out. you might be surprised. we voted to save our job one time, why do you think it would be different going forward?

You should move to Seattle PCL, the garbage collectors here make $80k.
All points of view are certainly singular- but I've flown at enough regionals to know work rules are certainly better here at SWA - not perfect and improvements can be made- but I'm curious what work rules you'd like to see changed?
That said, I'm certainly sure there are a majority who are happy to be part of SWA now and view it as good- just wondering if you represented their view well PCL ?
I would start with the reserve work rules, which are sub-regional. Those alone are enough to make me favor our CBA over yours.
Scoreboard,
You have to add in Airport Ready Reserve to your list of questionable Airtran reserve practices.
