If the seniority lists at American and Delta have so many old guys about to retire, and you are so unhappy here at SWA "Never a place I wanted to work" no bases "I want to live at", why not jump ship and apply to AA or DL where you will likely upgrade in 4-5 years when all the old guys retire?

Well you have to get hired by another airline first. That's the chicks and hatching metaphor. If you plan on goin the non-flying route, what's holding you back? Why not build up your résumé and go back to school full time? Again, depending on where you want to go you have to get accepted, but you will get in somewhere. Saying your not going to work for SWA is just something that makes you feel good to say. You know good and well it will provide you with the financial means to live the lifestyle you are accustomed to. Even while you work on your plan B (that's why most of us don't believe you!).

I'm sure his Daddy told him that real estate is a fickle industry and there isn't a high demand in the job market for overweight, obnoxious, know-it-all high school graduates. I have a feeling he will unfortunately stay, probably have a come-to-Jesus moment like Lear70 and try and play nice.
