IMHO, the number of aircraft choices is not as important as the number of people you have put out on the street. I would rather fly an MD88 for the rest of my life than be a furloughed 767 pilot.

continued employment, no paycuts, no benefit cuts, no work rule changes

Ding! We have a winner. This business has taught me that the above are the most important things about this job. Delta's RON's may sound great (to some) but I cannot fathom going to work for a bankrupt carrier (no matter what you fly or where you stay). I have worked at two financially insolvent airlines. I was furloughed from one and nearly furloughed from the other but I quit a few months prior to layoff. I have a family and their well being is paramount in my book.

I have three friends at Delta that I keep up with. All three were furloughed and spent a few years on the street following 9/11. They have all been recalled but two are still looking to leave Delta because of the job insecurity and hostility between employees. I am glad it is working out to be so good for you General but not everyone sees the Big D as you do. I will be the first to admit that SWA has its share of problems but my paycheck is not in danger of bouncing anytime soon.

Apparently you do, since you just posted in another thread warning a new guy not to fly for Comair.

As Gen Lee said, the question was asked and people gave their opinions. If you don't like reading it, then don't read it. Problem solved.

Nope...different question. The guy on the other thread wants to work for Delta..I gave advice at what not to do if he wants a job there. There are more than opinions on this thread. Mostly a bunch of childish name calling. .....night guys...I`m going to bed now....

Huh? You are going to be away anyway (don't you guys have 4 day trips?). We also have high time 3 day trips to Europe from ATL and JFK. So, if you are going to be away from home for 3 days (go to Copenhagen, Barcelona, Munich, Istanbul, Athens, Nice, Rome, Venice, Zurich, Honolulu, Maui, Tokyo, Lima, or Dublin) 4 days (Rio, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Sao Paulo), 6 days (Johannesburg, double Londons(thru CVG), double Moscow's (thru ATL), double Frankfurts (thru CVG), double Amersterdams (thru CVG), Mumbai (48 hour layover via NYC), then take your pick. Or, you can do one day turns (turns to San Juan, St Thomas, Antigua, PHX from ATL, and you can be home EVERY NIGHT. Can you do that at SWA? If you want options, we have them. At SWA, you have the option to go to Lubbock, but it is more than likely that you will go there anyway.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Do we have to have the Lubbock talk again? Whats up with you and Lubbock?

The General's boyfriend lives in LBB. Since DAL don't fly there (cus they be out conqueering da World with relaxing international flying) he has to ride on Southwest.

Boy, am I tired.

Again, people who slam the General usually can't debate him. You obviously have some insecurities. I agree with him, Southwest flying isn't for everyone. And, I also would not want to go to LBB.

While I won't resort to name calling, well, maybe a little when I say the General's repetitive, inaccurate, my friend said arguments sound like John Kerry in the Presidential debates- I'm better because I said so. There is nothing wrong with liking Delta or SWA. Everyone tries to justify their own decision. This is like buying a boat. Do it because this is what you want to do as there will always be someone to tell you that you made the wrong decision. As for my friend SWA/FO, soon to be SWA/CPT (60000#s in the last UG class baby!), if you folks knew him, you wouldn't get so pi$$ed at him. Maybe the same could be said for General Lee. My last .02

You boys have clearly never been to LBB, or if you have, you don't know where to go while you're there.

4 words for you: Texas Tech sorority girls.

LBB ranks slightly below AUS in terms of hotties.

And unlike the girls you'd meet on a CDG overnight, the TX girls shave their arm pits. :)

I have had an interesting development.
I have been hired by DAL and am waiting for a class. I just received an e-mail inviting me to a SWA interview in April. What are your thoughts on this. We would love to get back to TX, but is SWA a good move for someone who has a job at DAL and is one of the first 30 or so hired.

Anyone?
In about three years you will realize that Delta was the right choice for you.

Ahhh yes, all those hippies in Madison have finally gotten to ya. I'm gonna come up and help you smoke some of 'dat....the meat that is.

I agree too. I just don't like all the BS that goes along with it!! The FALSE info.

Did OMA wear you out?:pimp:

just getting there took too long. I learned some "new" stuff from the FOM along the way. Fun!

SWA/FO = SWA/CA

Just ordered a shirt for my daughter that says, "I Survived Roe v. Wade," and a shirt for myself that says, "Hippies Stink!"

the Smoking Loon is soooo good. It'd go great with rhino stir fry & a side of ostrich ice cream.:smash::beer::pimp::pimp::pimp:

i'm the :bomb:

did I not hear that the airlines want the FAA to start cutting the length of the overnights in international destinations? If that ever happens...your 15 hour overnight in CDG does not sound soo nice now.

Funny, a good friend of mine heard that when he was hired in 2000. You digging out Plato's old pep talks?
