Glad you liked it General. Can we now talk about Delta? When do we get to talk about Delta?

You can bring it up anytime. But, I would rather type about an arbitrated SLI between you guys and Airtran. It's just the right way to go, and fair for everyone.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Partially correct. Delta did sell Valuejet some DC9s way back when, but they went out of business on their own after the meltdown over Miami. Then a 737 operator, named Airtran and partially owned by Mesaba, merged with them and gave them the name. They have been the LCC answer to people in ATL since then. Had Airtran the 737 operator never merged with Valuejet, they would have been out of the way a long time ago, and those same planes would have gone to the desert. You left out that part, RED.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Airtran is a DIRECT descendant of Valujet. What part did I leave out General, it was in my original post. You forgot to mention Airways Corp too, but you knew that right? I didn't leave out anything dude.

Basically if arrogant Delta wouldn't have sold those orginal DC-9's, we probably wouldn't even be talking about this...

Thanks for starting Valujet. How many BILLIONS of dollars has Delta lost because of it. Great financial move. Classsic.

Not going to happen General..... ALPA/SWAPA agreement.
We are not Delta.

Yeah because Valujet would not have been able to find DC-9s anywhere else back in 1993.

No, they just taxied them over to the other side of the ramp.

Airline 101. Never sell aircraft to a direct competitor in your backyard. But hey, Delta arrogance has no bounds. They didn't think this little tiny upstart airline would amount to anything. Guess again.

The original Airtran was what? A direct descendant? Huh? They were a small operator out of MCO, and partially owned by Mesaba. When Valujet crashed, their fleet was parked for a good while. At that point Valujet management went looking for anyone with a different name to put over Valujet, and they found Airtran. Had they not done that, those ex DL DC9s would have gone to the desert sooner, and Valujet would have been gone for good. And how many BILLIONS has Delta lost because of it? Hmmmm. Are you up for an Academy Award? You are over doing it again. BTW, if you don't need those 717s, and no other INTL carrier that GK supposedly would give them to actually wants 85 of them, I bet I know where they could go......otherwise, you are stuck with them, the leases, and the SLI.

So, you are telling me that arbitration is not a step in your Process Agreement? Really? Didn't ALPA, SWAPA, and GK sign that? Come on now, I think you may be fibbing.......... quit it....... I think you may be incorrect on that. Ask Lear70.

Bye Bye---General Lee

Honest question, not flamebait: I used to have General Lee on "ignore", and this was a much more pleasant place for me. Now all his anti-SWA posts show up again. I don't mind a few here and there, but it's kinda creepy how he can have four in a row...anyway, I can't find the ignore function. When I click on his name, the option isn't there. On the bottom of the screen, I can only "report post".

Any help? My creeped-out factor just pegged out, and I would like to go back to ignore. Is that still a function?

Up towards the top of the screen, click "USER CP"

Go to "Edit Ignore List" on the left of that screen and add his name in. Make sure it's either copy and pasted from what you see on this screen or that it's EXACTLY the way it appears on the screen. Click "SUBMIT".

If you're still getting them, you input the name wrong, spaces, underscores, everything is has to match. Using copy and paste works well.

Radar,

I'm with ya. It' getting harder and harder to find any reasonable information without having to sift through a Delta infomercial. Thanks for the info L70.

I am sure he doesn't care. If he has four responses in a row, maybe he is responding to four different people? It's nice that he addresses each one. I do the same sometimes if I have time.

On Your Six, or should I say "General Lee", why do you insist on bothering me? You're not interesting. A little flame-bait here and there is fun and adds to the discussion, but you're like the guy at the bar that tells one story, everyone smiles, so he thinks they're interested in listening to him all night.

Delta is a fine airline, the B757/767 are fine airplanes and international destinations are nice. Repeating that 1,400 times gets my creep factor up.

Delta pilots have been made fun of my entire professional career, the Plato thing, the psychologist interviewer that offed himself, the inability to negotiate something as simple as jumpseats made your airline "nice" but "kinda full of people you wouldn't want to hang out with".

Now, on the opposite side, there isn't anyone here who doesn't think, "If I got stuck on an overnight with two Southwest crews I would probably have an absolute riot and come home with stories to tell". So...stick-up-the-butt-boring, or a hoot. We chose hoot, you chose unpleasant and uptight. To be honest, you chose correctly.

Don't go away mad, just go type your novel, or make a contribution to your local newspaper, or the ALPA newsletters. Do some church charity work, they always need writers. Get cracking on saving some orphans, or stopping human trafficking.

Seriously, you're not as irritating as you are boring. As I've mentioned before, I kind of like this site, the AirTran guys write really well, the Southwest guys seem ok, and you and your alter ego bore me to tears.

Absolutely correct. Reminds me of the Delta FO that decided to hang out with the Southwest crew all night because the Delta CA was an uptight tool.

Must have been a NWA guy.

Because he and OYS are pissed that the Southwest guys have so much fun everyday while making bank...on a narrow body. Especially making more than all their widebody guys. They will continue to spin every possible angle to elevate the bankrupt Delta, but in the end the facts are the facts....get over it.

Face it, you will be at the bottom of your combined list, and Airtran 717 FOs will be senior to you, meaning you will miss Xmas again, for the next five years thanks to the stagnation due to lack of scheduled retirements. But, your pay is good, for now. (that's what the AT 717FO who is one number senior to you just said)

Radar, I mean GUP, you need to get over yourself, and get a new Fonzi jacket. The locals in MAF think you look cool, but that is the only place that does. You are big compared to the C152s that fly in the pattern there, but everywhere else you fly you are a small corndog that gets in the way. Nice taxi speed there, chief. Your old 737-300s look like turds in the toilet.

So, you think I am General Lee? I guess only he has a disdain for cocky pilots who will shortly get their rears handed to them by an arbitration panel. That will be fun to watch. While I wish I had his seniority, I think I can have my own voice on this board, and I will continue to do so. So, time to wipe up your tears and save them for your SLI announcement. I have popcorn ready, and can't wait.

Excuse me, the title of this thread is.........

SWA/Airtran Process Agreement??

Do you work for either SWA or AirTran? If not please move along, nothing to read here.

How many takeoff's and landings did you have this month?
Better yet, how many takeoff's and landings did you have without going off the end of the runway?
Based on the answer to the first question, you are under paid, by ALOT!
See ya later sport. Enjoy all those legs, and bragging about your pay. Thanks to you guys, it's the new low in sub par wages.;)

That's really the best you've got? Really?

Who cares how many legs we do a day, I typically do 2-4. I'm just finally calling you guys out on your anti-Southwest rants. It's about money and how pissed you are that you aren't making top pay right now. I'm not hating on Delta, I hope you guys get your pay up but you and OYS are just being childish about this. GET OVER IT DUDE.

OYS keeps saying how DL will be back on top soon, mysteriously exactly just as the General says. Honestlly, I don't see DALPA being able to make up that much ground in this environment. I predict a contract extension with COLA raises only, if you don't think that's the way your future negotiations will go, you have your head in the sand. Too help bring you back to reality, review your massive 1st quarter loss.

Good Luck.

Not gonna happen buddy. I'll tell you one more time..I have zero concerns about this SLI. But for some reason you seem to have some problems with it. Sounds more like a personal problem to me.

In the end, both SW and AAI pilots will be fine. And both bringing it to your hub in ATL.

The only thing your bringing to ATL is a different paint job. Oh, and higher paid employees. Personally, I think it will be a good thing for Delta pilots in three ways. One, a competitor in our sandbox that pays more (no more of our mgmt. pointing at AAI), two lock up gates to keep the real low cost types(virgin, frontier/republic) from having a chance and three force them to use more mainline aircraft vs rjs to lower our seat mile cost.

Well stated. And just remember, I am not annoying, I am persistant.

Oy6...what did you do between UAL and that Corporate job?

I was only out a few months from UAL, and I knew someone in the corporate flight department. I flew the corporate job until getting hired here. I flew there for a long time, and saw places that were interesting, but the 24/7 beeper thing aint for me.

I heard the same thing when we started BWI service. And Denver. And Phoenix.
