Name one other airline in the country where your union representatives are also in the training department. Name ONE. Name One Just one. That is the beef with HL. Money Money Money

It's actually quite common. I personally don't agree with the practice, and I considered proposing an MEC resolution at my previous carrier when I was on the MEC to prohibit any Officer or Committee Chairman from being a checkairman. I never had the time to put it together since I ended up leaving, but I still feel the same way. It's a conflict of interest. That being said, there are many ALPA carriers where this happens quite frequently.
 
I may be wrong here, but don't a lot of those airlines that have a big training dept. also have a seperate LEC for the training dept, so in turn those guys would be union officers, but not representing the line pilots?

It's just a question because I don't know.
