The Gen has lost soooo much over the past 10 years..........so going backwards is really all he knows.
So, you cry each time you leave your family for work? They know I have to go to work, and since I have to work, I actually like going on "mini vacations" to Europe or wherever. You KNOW you are going to work hard, that is because your trips are ultra productive. Great for you. I know I will be going overseas, to an interesting destination with great restaurants. Pilots usually have to leave to work, and hopefully your family understands that (you can do turns though if you are senior enough). So, YOU are wrong. Whatever you do, don't sob on the way out the door....

Starting to understand now why your wife works full time-less time at home with you on your weekdays off.
You fly to Europe, that's cool! Maybe you could tell us all about itWell, I usually have weekends off, I mainly fly 3 day trips to Europe during the week.

Ok, it's a hotel room. The standard ones that are purchased by airlines for crew members are virtually identical all over the globe. Now it's your turn to tell me yours is much better.Only if you tell us about El Paso!

Well, one thing I like about Europe is the toilets all have these cool little drinking fountains right next to the toilets!
Dude
Ever notice all you do is slam Texas.
You might want to seek help. We could start a fund for you on FI![]()
Ummmm, that's a sad statement. If your layover is just a "hotel room", then you are missing out. I bid trips for specific restaurants, things to do like tours or seeing museums, or just riding bikes near windmills. Even though Canyonblue doesn't want ANYONE to enjoy a layover if it isn't with family, many do. If you gotta go to work, it's nice to enjoy it, and going somewhere interesting and fun is a plus. You can do that domestically and internationally, but some just can't do it internationally. That is a difference people who might be applying to airlines coming up here may want to think about. Regardless, if you have fun, well, that's awesome.

I had a 2,600sf suite for my 55hr layover in PEN. Watching the women jetskiing in burkas (or whatever you call those things) was quite titillating!
The boat drinks were pretty good, too.
