Southwest Airlines has already begun scheduling its first flights to and from Memphis ? a move that Memphians are hoping will bring down the cost of air travel. The airline is expected to make the official announcement today, but the flights are being displayed already on Southwest.com.
Memphians have been waiting a long time for the low-cost airline to come to the Bluff City. The company website shows that flights to and from Memphis begin Nov. 3, and significant discounts are offered by booking online. Beginning in November, the airline will offer daily non-stop service between Memphis and Orlando, Chicago and Baltimore/Washington, D.C.

To each his own Scoreboard....nice try!!

BOOM!!! Take that General. Now we are just one step away from total domination!!!

Well......maybe two steps.

SWA never served MEM. AirTran was the one flying ATL-MEM. I assume that service will not end, the new destinations will be in addition to ATL-MEM.

Yes, service between ATL-MEM is ending once Southwest takes over ops there. We will instead be flying 2 a day to MDW and 1 a days to BWI, HOU, MCO, and TPA.
