Bye Bye---General Lee

I still do no think you fly for DAL, but you did explan it better than any of my buds at DAL. They actually do not even know how to do it , just that it can be done . They fly about 80 hr a motth . They are not able to pick up any extra flying .

The more senior you are in category, the better chance you have to swap a turn or 2 day for a bigger, more high time trip that can add up. All you have to do is "have something to swap", and then seniority takes over.

I didn't even read that thread originally, but thanks for bringing it to my attention. I usually read threads that interest me.
I'm curious, why does anything concerning Southwest generate so much of your interest. I know why I click on them, because I work there, but conversely; I generally skip over threads about airlines I don't work for.

I guess your seniority(on a list of one), allows you to climb on to the blow up doll when ever you want to, thats the only trip you will ever get....

He's been pissed about Southwest for years.

Mostly likely..

1. SW stability thru 9/11.
2. Higher pay than DL for many years.
3. Higher productivity with high payrates at SW vs DL
4. No RJs vs almost a thousand at DL recently
5. Quick upgrades over that past 10 years.
6. DL bankruptcy

Your right Howard, I don't mind taking a look at other airline threads just to stay informed with the industry. But I don't (and most other pilots) don't inject themselves into OAL threads like this guy does. It's idiotic and bizarre.

You can get over 100 credit hours a month via swap with the pot or straight pick ups off the swap board. GL doesn't say that all airline pilots, ie 121 can't fly over 1000 block per year.

I didn't think "Ooops, the CB popped" or whatever seemed all that interesting. But, PBR did, and he was ALL OVER IT.

I do read threads concerning the legacies, and most of them in the Majors board. I enjoy all parts of this industry, and that makes some people mad. I enjoy the debate and giving opinions on FI, and if I do it in the Regionals, Cargo, LCCs, Foreign Airlines, or Majors section, some people are threatened by that. (ie PBR) A girl like that knows she can't debate, and resorts to attempted slams that have no affect whatsoever. But yes, I do look at other sections, and pick and choose which threads I want to read.

No, that's not really it. There is no doubt SWA was stable through 9-11 and the resulting BKs, but what I saw was arrogance. Sure, the same could be said about other groups too (ahem, ahem), but this one was just plain obvious. When I tried to figure out why, it still wasn't clear to me. I think SWA is a well run company, and most of the employees seem nice, and for a long while management had a great relationship with the employees, which was enviable. But, when I gave my opinion that I wouldn't want to do that type of flying (25 min turns, multiple leg days, and on one plane type forever), I was slammed by everyone. "How could you NOT want what WE HAVE???" "We are awesome...."

Now, I can already see how this will be turned around at me. I simply throw out there that there is ANOTHER option, one that many on here don't understand. Sure, they USED TO FLY MAC back in the day and HATED INTL flying..... But, that simply is not the same. I point out that legacies have a choice to do domestic or INTL, and that many people should consider that before thinking about their next job. No biggie. SWA flying is different than legacy flying. (not really hub and spoke vs point to point....etc) When I point out INTL trips and how much I enjoy them, I again am the villian. Hey, you can't win. I didn't think the AT "merger" was handled very well, and that brought me some slack, but I try to call it like I see it. I still think SWA is a great company, but just not one I would prefer to fly for. I enjoy what I do, and I enjoy having plane/trip options. Others don't care. Oh well.

simple pandering, if he only stuck to his threads he would only have one percent of his post total.
