The only "relationship" is that you will do as you're told.
The DR is a one-way check valve.

I don't think we've even discussed the original question in this thread:

How do you have a direct relationship when your pilots don't trust you?

Here's my thought:

The pilots who vote against representation and for the DR don't really care about trust or even expect much in the way of "prosperity" (an oldie but a goody) because they're all afraid of their own shadows.

Absolutely!

As an example, how could I possibly have signed the five docs when I don't trust the company?

How could they possibly argue that I SHOULD have?

It was a tangled mess of lawyerese written by jetblue lawyers.

I have NO advocates.

Did you quit? Or do you mean our company?

Why quit? I've got mine......... Did you look for the DOL's EBSA jetBlue inquiry yet? Facinating case, seems that jetBlue didn't think the law applied to them, after all, they're jetBlue, with pilots too dumb to look out after their own interests, so why not chisel them when the opportunity presents itself? It's the jetBlue way.

I am not defending JetBlue management. I don't need to look it up. I am confident they tried to bend and stretch the law in their favor. Most American corporations do. It is the American way.

In keeping with the American way most pilot groups fight back or atleast stand up for themselves. Not the pathetic JetBlue pilot group. Management say we're going to pay you less an the JetBlue pilots say OK. Management says you will accept less retirement and pay more for insurance and the JetBlue pilots say OK. Management says we will not give you binding scope or provide industry standard control and the JetBlue pilots say OK.
Absolutely pathetic. Leading the race to the bottom.

No argument from me.

Right no one should ever apply at jB agai9n. It would be a slam against the "Brother hood"

Not necessarily however the failure/retrain rate of new hires is an indication of the caliber of applicant.

This message board will not deter pilots from accepting employment with Jetblue however it will make them aware of the reality of working for Jetblue. The topic has been beaten like the proverbial dead horse but still very, very true.

In fact it might excite those pilots working at the bottom of the industry at places like KYIP that JB pilots might be quitting and making opening for them. As bad as you all think JB is, it is heaven compared to on-demand at KYIP. That is why four of our pilots have gone over to JB, none have come back.

Cue the fly because you love it and should be happy to have a job in 3..2..1...

yes yes yes... we should all fly for free because it's so fun and be independently wealthy on the side. Best marry a rich chick or plan on livin with mommy and daddy for awhile.

Why hasn't there been a recruitment ban on the airline? For example, anyone who goes to work there gets blacklisted.

Friends of mine who have been there 10, 7 and 5 years don't think so

Friends of mine who have been here 10, 7 and 5 years do think so. All my friends who were furloughed Delta have returned except 1. He is waiting on a class date. Most of my AA buds have gone back. Even 2 furloughed Continental friends are going back and they will do so taking a huge pay cut as their seniority did not accrue.
If you came here from a regional like Mesa, yes this is better. For most other people...stepping stone or temporary stop. Attrition speaks volumes. During periods or hiring SWA, Delta, Continental, United, Alaska, American or even Usair have not lost pilots at the comparative rate we have.
Those are facts.

I actually know some of your friends. These pilots send out mass emails defending Jetblues disability policy. YOUR friends claim our disability policy need not change because pilots will have access to Medicare when their Cobra runs out.
Great guys they are.

The only pilots to be officially black listed have been scabs and we have several from the list working here.

Please tell me you are joking. First, I've never even heard of this.......and second, anybody on or off property saying things are so bad that this is warranted is showing their absolutely disconnected understanding of this industry.

Look, there a lot of truths people are saying on this site, but there are also things being said by individuals who have never had another airline job...........and they seem to love the role of "all knowledgeable", but they are not.

Point is, this place is far from perfect...........needs a lot of fixing and I believe only a CBA and the ability to negotiate, not collaborate will address these issues. But, there a lot of great things about this airline.......there have been constant improvements and the work environment is very good.

What he said.

Work environment not bad? A smiley manager smiling happy smiles at you, and blowing sunshine up your ass, while shoving a ******************** compensation package down your throat does not make for a good work environment.
Yes suffering along on a pilots average compensation for working 16 days a month will gain great sympathy with the average American.

Our pay and benefits aren't compared to average americans so we don't care what they think. We are only compared to our peers.

This. Best post of this flightinfo board.

Jetblue compares your retirement and benefits to Fortune 2000 companies and declares B6 retirement and benefits to be "industry leading". Pilots (JAOC) compare B6 retirement and benefits to other major airline pilots and declare they are for sh!t.

Make your own comparisons and decide for yourselves.
