Well being a phys ed major would be a plus in low tech planes, and randy became stupid.

I can tell you this, the less educated guys had/have problems with the Airbus, some didn't make it through the transition.

Right comparing someone graduating from Top Gun with honors, landing an F-4 at night on a boat, and becoming an Ace is nothing compared to progrmaing a FMS on a Airbus. I used to stand bridge watches with a guy who was his wingman the day he shot down the 3 Migs. Randy may have had some ego issues, but it does not take away from his ability to fly and airplane.

Most professions require post grad- and I couldn't find one that cared what your degree was in- but all required a degree.

So this is a truly dumb thread creep started by yip again-
If you want to be a dentist, doctor, psychiatrist, MfCC, architect, MBA, Or JD- it literally does not matter what degree you get. Just meet the requirements to apply to your next school.
The only profession I've found that does care is engineering. Which is probably due to the volume if work required, but again, there is still an MS track if you have a BS in any science.

"You don't need a degree that will prepare you for the MCAT. The required pre-med classes are all you need to prepare for the MCAT - that's 1 year biology, 1 year general chemistry, 1 year organic chemistry, and 1 year of physics. You can major in most any field - as most majors still allow plenty of elective time.

Having said that, if you take all of the pre-med requirements, you will be close to filling a biology major at most colleges. But, like I said, you can fulfill the pre-med requirements majoring in almost any field.

Also, I would be very surprised if you couldn't take all of the pre-med classes and meet the requirements for a psychology major in 4 years - I don't think there are THAT many requirements for psychology degrees."

yea about 4-5 years now, he had some baggage, Silver Star, MIG Ace, never gets Squadron Command, well he did get Top Gun CO. Never makes it beyond O-5. His USAF counterpart Richie makes O-8. Go figure

Graduating isn't hard, paying for it is! Not all of us were able to get loans and grants. Company ceasing operations and living on savings/401k, paying for cancer treatment, damn, my 19 years of experience should count for something. Just trying to show people there are always extenuating circumstances.....

Well said! FWIW, two of the best airline pilots I ever flew with started flying twin beeches after high school rather than go to college. That said, I've flown with great pilots from all the various backgrounds (Civ, Mil, college, no college), ironically the weakest tend to be the one's that think their particular background is superior. The best seem to understand that a good pilot can come from any background.
