The small percentage of weak senior pilots does not rate the copilot's juvenile way of expressing their anger at how congress changed the rules. Grow up.

I wonder how the pro 65 crowd would be acting like if they lost the fight. Probably like the USAir crybabies. LOL! I've already heard stories of around age 60 pilots gloating in our faces so get off the high horse please.....it goes both ways. Thank you.

LOL N1 I was going to make the same response! The arguement was made by the lawmakers that the older pilots experience was needed. Judging from the incredably childess reponse of some of the younger guys on here, I would say that may be the case. There are some guys on here that are stressing over having their upgrade slowed but have demonstrated that don't have the maturity to be a Captain yet.

Don't make me pee my pants with laughter....I've seen some immature 59 year olds at UPS.

That's real nice for YOU. But I know plenty of folks in this industry that got totally screwed out of their retirement through no fault of their own. That's who this helps and all it will cost is a couple years slower upgrade (not everyone will fly to 65, me included) but give's everyone the chance to increase their earning power later in life if they need to. As for you arrogant little wimps that say "they should have planned better" you are simply proving how clueless you are. I've got news for you, life is full of unexpected turns and twist's, some people get hit pretty hard in life and need to work longer, it's not their fault.

How about a push to change the laws so that greedy corporate execs can't FUK people OUT of their retirement?????? How about the outrage and push to get retirements that were STOLEN back???? I don't hear the battle cry for that. Noooooo, we just ask to WORK longer?????? That's FUBAR if you ask me.

C'mon folks, there are plenty of threads here to discuss this seriously, plenty of threads for us whipper-snappers to be put in our place, lets get this thread back to the age old past time of pilots, poking fun of ourselves. In that spirit...

Every flight comes with a "Back in my day" speech including having to do walk arounds barefoot, in the snow, going uphill both ways...

Better be nice, or they'll put laxative in your coffee!

Yuck, I always hated the smell of mothballs...

God, I love the "experience" excuse. I'm sorry, did you think there's no one at my airline under age 60 with experience? Thank god the over 60 crowd will be around to make sure that guys who've already spent a decade as captains flying regional jets get the "experience" that only they can provide. Many of the guys upgrading at my airline have already been fo's under these "experienced" captains for 10+ years, I'm sure they'll be very happy to get those finishing touches for the next 5.

The first post, and a couple after that, are funnier than hell.
But, as anything on FI, some of you loosers had to hijack the thread and turn it into a pissing contest.
Go back to the regional forum and debate whose worse: Mesa or Comair!

Deal with it-it's (finally) here-age 65. Oh, and I expect all of you nay-sayers to retire promptly at age 60 when your time comes, to make room for the youngsters to upgrade quicker, right?

I could care less if I fly with a 60 year old, or a 65 year old-as long as they are competent.

Whaaa, whaaaa....

Hey,
He will be the one who drives to the airport in the new Porsche.(5 extra years to pay off) Nice airport car, hows your Yugo?

He will also be the guy with every holiday off due to his spot on the seniority list.

He will also have that weekend house in the Keys paid off quicker.

He will do this for an extra five years thanks to all of you "young whippersnappers" who were too busy to go to an ALPA meeting of whatch what your lawmakers were doing. Get real pissed off and hold your breath. The geezer in the Porsche with the 30 something F/A, thanks you with his every thrust(Viagra) and says "Check that tail extra good, the rivets get loose in freezing rain"
BAAAAHAAAA
PBR

I always thought the age 60 was a good thing for the pilots...it gave them more time to spend their pensions but that has now been kcufed up for everyone. So I say givem 5 extra years, I'll watch envious as they request a free senior coffee at mcd's and order off the senior menu!
