Not to turn this into a political thread, but I think Obama will prove the above statement wrong. If he wants any chance in the world of staying in the White House in 2012, he is going to have to deliver what he promised during this election. I think we will see change in America with this guy.

Thanks for the complement.....I think. If you are saying CH. 7 isn't going to happen, hooray!! No merger will happen either, however.

He also proposed that each generation should arouse its' own revolution to ensure it is not held bound by the outdated and onerous affectations of the previous generation. Hence the folly of political conservatism.

To stir the pot even more, Thomas Jefferson said during his presidential campaign at a debate "whether my neighbor thinks there are 50 gods or none neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket". In the fine tradition of our "conservative values" foundation I suppose.....

The only was they will go chapter anything is if senior management stand to make $$$$$ from it. Everything else is absurd speculation and pontificating on a forum as if you are "in the know" is ridiculous.

They look at the Delta CEO bonus for arranging their merger and it's their wet dream.

You could not be more wrong. The ONLY good thing about obama is he will never allow cabotage and I highly doubt increased foreign ownership. Now back to ual/cal.

In all seriousness, I hope you guys pull through this, but things are being stacked against you. I don't want a merger simply because it would destroy my career and long term plans. So, naturally, I'm against that. I remember when United was THE place to be years ago, but because of mismanagement, your airline has basically been demoralized and destroyed. I was waiting to see when "your" generaton would chime in. First of all, most of us (i don't even think I'm the ipod generation) did struggle. Of course, we have those that didn't, but I'm not one of them. I remember sleeping in my car covered in blankets in Burlington Vermont just to get a chance at multi engine time because I didn't have the money to pay for it. My coffee that I had in the car would freeze....it was that cold. I also remember sleeping in KAL cargo bins (those metal ones) in the heated section of the JFK cargo area because the UPS pilots wouldn't let me in their lounge. I'd put down cardboard boxes and foam peanuts just so my legs wouldn't go numb. I remember sweating my arse off flying around Florida after working at a gun shop running up and down stairs with hundreds of pounds of ammo just to have some money to get some time. So spare me your arrogant attitude to the "new" generation. You and your croanies are pathetic and I'm sick of hearing about your "walking through 3ft of snow, uphill, blah blah blah". Get a life.....
