Bush doesn't know who ASA is you idiot.

No, but the anti-labor scumbags that he appointed to the NMB certainly do.

Keep your head in the sand about how politics affects your career if you'd like, though.

I am plenty aware of how they affect me, stick to the DC-9, the B-717 might be a little too advanced for you.

I get the distinct impression that lace-up shoes might be a little too complex for you.

Wow

Don't forget about our pilots too!! All a collective effort in not giving up.

Putting this down here as not to hijack the thread...
Yes he did get benched. Carson Palmer didn't have a stellar start either, look at what he's doing. Matt is arguably the best COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB in the history of the sport. He'll come along, you can't jump into the NFL and expect to be GREAT. Brett Favre took awhile to develop, Matt will too. He needs a team built around him and it will come along. The tougher the competition, the better Matt does.

Wow-

I guess I clicked on the "regional football" thread. Who the hell else cares about USC?

-Not me......

P.S.-All the forgoing statements also apply to my left nut.

Hey my friend, I'm not starting a pi**ing contest with you, but your rhetorts are pretty ridiculous. Just take some time to read over the past two pages what you are saying.

I'm well aware of what I'm saying. Many pilots don't want to accept that the President and his party are largely to blame for the problems we face in this profession. Most pilots are staunch conservatives, so they have a very hard time admitting that the Republican party is the cause of their labor woes. I know; I was the same way for years. After spending years doing ALPA work and seeing how this process really works, it has become abundantly clear to me just how heavily the system has been weighted against us by the Bush administration. It's not that he has anything against a certain pilot group, or even against a certain profession; he's simply extremely pro-management, and he believes that a strong labor movement is detrimental to business. Because of that, he has stacked the deck against us. His NMB is the reason that you've been in negotiations for 5 years, and it's the reason that we at AirTran are in our 3rd year, the reason that PCL has been in negotiations for 3 years, and so on. As long as Bush and people like him are in office, we will never have the leverage to make real progress in this profession. It all comes back to politics.

I'm not sticking up for this president in any regard, and last time I checked this industry was going into the swirly bowl before he got into office. By the way, didn't your pilot group kick out your head union reps because they were not looking out for your best interests?

Absolutely. The financial problems of the airlines are their own doing. The ensuing problems that labor has faced as a result of management trying to make us shoulder all of the burden have been a direct result of this President's anti-labor mentality, however.

Yep. How does that apply? I'm missing your point.

I'd like to thank the CNC for a job well done!!

However, I don't trust JA/ASA management morons. Any reason to be suspicious about the sudden move?

Anything up their sleeve? Give those whiny pilots what they want, they'll be gone in 6 months anyway type stuff?

It's just that there hasn't been ANY good news around here for awhile and I don't trust the sudden "good will"

No sitting President is going to inconvience thousands of voting passengers just so a few hundred pilots can get 3 bucks an hour more, give me a break.

Remember you will still have the same idiot crew schedulers, and management.

Management will never agree to any contract they can't readily violate.

Read this TA very, very, very closely before voting for it. I'm willing to bet there will be some "ambiguous" language. With this management group you simply can't allow it. I remember being told I wasn't a "pilot", I was a "reserve pilot." This was in a clause that said "any pilot......" This issue came about after an unscheduled overnight and they wanted to extend me further.....since I wasn't a "pilot", I had to eat their $hit.

Don't get too excited just yet.

Man I think this thread creeped about 4 times already.......Congrats on some progress ASA pilots but the quoted thread is a good one.

Read every single word of that TA.........if it aint worth it - VOTE NO

The 5 years will be for nothing if it aint worth 5 years effort. MGT needs to be sent a message.........

Congrats again guys.

Congrats guys!!! Hopefully it's worth the 5 years that it took!! Best of luck in the future.....

Rule # 2

Congrats on your TA.

NOW STOP DISCUSSING IT ON A PUBLIC FORUM.

This should be rule number two (following rule # one about how to jumpseat) when you are first hired.

You do not have a contract yet, you merely have a TA. If you vote this down and want a better counter offer you might want to speak privately about what would make you happy next time around. This could be a great opportunity to further EMPOWER your negotiating comm. at the table.

STFU about your TA. If you just wait you will be able to brag about your new CONTRACT once its signed. Trust me, the rest of the industry is going to be listening.

I do not work for ASA or any other divisions of DAL.

Thanks to everyone, especially the CNC. Even though this is still not over. Hopefully there will be something to be said for holding the line.

Keep in mind that sometimes the NMB literaly forces a union CNC to agree to a TA that the NMB deems reasonable. If there is a strong no vote, you may be released to strike, but first the NMB may want to see that you actually vote down what they believe you will vote yes for. Either way though, its you guy's call. Best of luck.

I'll have to assume that since the entire MEC believes this is a "pretty good deal" and they have vowed to not "present a TA they deem less than what the ASA pilot group has demanded", the fact that they agreed to this TA proves they were not "forced" to agree to this.

All indications are that the MEC believes this to be a fair and acceptable deal.

For all the alpa cheerleaders and their "my MEC speaks for me" stickers. I guess they have said YES. My decision is made (for me).

Now, gimme' my bonus check before I leave.:)

Looking at the ALPA FastRead this morning, I think we just got our first hint that the company showed up to end it this time. Jerry Atkin himself showed up. I may be wrong, but I think that's the first time he's ever shown up. With his hatred for union's, it must have been very painful for him to actually have to negotiate with one.

Either way, SOMETHING BIGGER IS UP!!!

Not true. The NMB can "strongly suggest" that the CNC accept a TA, but he can't force them to do anything. The result of ignoring his strong request would be getting "parked" for a period of time.

I suspect that what happened this time was the DAL execs calling up SGU and telling them to settle his danged thing so their operation can get back to normal.

JA was there? Guess what he was doing? Thats right! Looking out for his bottome line. What do you think will happen to the SKYW stock this week. It will probably go above $29. Stepping into the future is what he is looking for. Which directly affects the bottom line.

After 5 years and we have a TA. This should be a very happy time for all involved. We will have pleny of time to pick it apart, talk with the MEC about their feelings on it. Then we vote.

Once again, after 5 long years we finally have something. There was only 3 things that were going to happen. Release, park, or a TA. One thing we DON"T have, is more negotiating sessions in Cancun in 3 months.

Looks like that move to the 200 won't hurt to much with the new pay rates.

Florida vs. LSU next weekend. Great SEC matchup. I know some people would rather talk about why they aren't a Dou'che Bag.

It sucks.... Just look at the Rates and other Stuff ExpressJet Got in 2003... ExpressJet Pay Rates or Higher or NO

ONCE AGAIN.......IT IS MORE THAN RATES YOU IMBICILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is ExpressJets Profit sharing plan? What is their Duty Rigs? What is their commuter policy? What is their reserve system? What is their swapping/dropping policy? There is more to a contract, and more to your w2 than hourly rates!!! When will some of you guys see this? I'm not even saying ASA's TA is better than Express or anybody else, BUT EVALUATE THE WHOLE PACKAGE! And realize.....we had to give in in some areas to get in others....i.e SCOPE PROTECTION!!!!!!!! USE YOU HEADS before you make stupid statements.

It's SHE and you are correct about DAL.
