Wohoo, a .90 cent raise as a 2nd year FO on the 50-seater.

Or an .81 cent raise as a 10-year Captain on the 70-seater.

5 years for this!!!!

It'll be interesting to see if the pilot group votes in favor. And if so, how the MEC will divvy up the 13.5 mil. 13.5 / 1,700 pilots= ~7,900. But we all know it won't be that even. I'd say the majority of guys will take home about 5K. (That's a whopping $1,000/year or 83 bucks/month for the half decade of negotiations)

You will make more than your .90 raise in Profit sharing and duty rigs. Please don't consider hourly rates as the only barometer of your compensation. Those are things we have never had. Also consider the massive QOL improvements we have achieved much earlier in these negotiations, things in the scheduling/reserve sections. This is more than a .90/hr increase for you.

I'm not an ASA pilot, but that TA looks extremely weak to me. It doesn't even come close to what Comair had in 2001 and money is now 20% less valuable than it was then.

Remember, we are entering a period of a severe pilot shortage (read leverage), especiallly at the regional level. Do you really want to lock yourselves into this POS? ASA mgmt will be dancing a jig while other pilot groups leap over you, again leaving ASA pilots at the bottom.

Duty rigs are good, but pay close attention to the language. Are they calculated daily or monthly? Big difference.

Oh, and about the signing bonus. I encourage you to run a quick calculation of what the last five years of stagnation and stalling have cost you in career earnings. You will find that, invested over a career, you are looking at well over a million per pilot. 13.5M may sound like a lot, but look at what the company saved by delaying this long. It's in the billions.

Either way, I have no dog in the fight. Good luck guys. I know how torturous the last five years have been.

I haven't seen all the details, yet. I am, however, very happy with what I see so far. It's only a 3 year agreement by the way. I don't mind other carriers "leaping" over ASA. That's the WAY IT SHOULD BE. Continue raising the bar. Comair's deal was taken away. And about the language. Alpa had its scope language professionals at the table. That's the nice thing about being represented, you have access to all sorts of expert help, virtually free of charge (yes 2%). I'm very proud of our MEC. This has been long and tedious, however, it will be worth it. Details haven't even came out about the Scheduling secion. I can't wait to see that! Good job ASA pilots!

Congrats guys. I live with a bunch of SkyWest pilots and everyone agrees that Skynation is a tool to the worst order. Most of the guys i know that work for Skywest are voting for ALPA and people like SkyNation are the exception. From a Horizon guy, congrats on your TA and dont get too happy until the ink is dry and your TA passes.

Oh yeah, USC sucks ballz.

Pookie, look at that. You have such a GREAT post, and then you completely destroy any credibility with that last statement. ;-) Who's your team? If 'SC sucks soooo bad, then consider this, 'SC is ranked above your team. Put that in yo pipe and choke on it.

You are right Hollywood, they did a great job. Funny how that Forbes article came out the other day about how we are the worst regional, then a TA. Great job by our CNC and all volunteers and the like.

Dick Gozinya,

by the way, did n't that guy in your little condom picture just get benched by the Birds?

While QOL is important it does not pay the bills!

If this T/A looks like it should, and it gets voted in, I will finally respect this company..

Respect this company? Maybe. Management? No way! One has to earn respect, and this management team at ASA has not earned the respect of the ASA pilot group. Not being bitter either, and I'm happy we have a TA. But, don't think this automatically grants ASA management respect.

After the TA is voted on and passed, I will bend over backwards to get ASA back towards the top for performance and customer care.

Don't forget about our pilots too!! All a collective effort in not giving up.

Putting this down here as not to hijack the thread...
Yes he did get benched. Carson Palmer didn't have a stellar start either, look at what he's doing. Matt is arguably the best COLLEGE FOOTBALL QB in the history of the sport. He'll come along, you can't jump into the NFL and expect to be GREAT. Brett Favre took awhile to develop, Matt will too. He needs a team built around him and it will come along. The tougher the competition, the better Matt does.

Had nothing to do with it. Delta management finally had enough, just like in 98. Thanks to the Delta MEC for telling Delta management they needed to settle this, it helped. And of course I can't say thanks enough to our hard working CNC and MEC, especially JR.

Congrats ASA Folks! I know it has been one helluva road to get to this point. Good Luck with the new TA!

While QOL is important it does not pay the bills!

Are you freaking kidding me???? First off, the biggest changes needed for ASA in a new contract was QOL issues that we severely lacked, and lagged behind most of the industry, and most ASA pilots claimed was their biggest wants in the new contract.

Next, the post was from an FO. Industry wide, as well as DCI ave, ASA FO's are already among the higest paid and one of the only that are paid 60% of Captain rates.

And, I stand by my original statement that one needs to consider things like duty rigs and profit sharing as total compensation and not just look at hourly rates.

That will pay the bills.

Congratulations, guys!!!! This is great news. Your perseverance has paid off, and this contract will help to raise the bar for all of the other regionals in negotiations.

Breather break for the Thread....

Hoser, Hoser, Hoser......

Matt won 2 NC's, competed for a 3rd....Won the Heisman and LOST to Kal and Texas in his entire career at USC. Went wire to wire #1 in 2004, which only Florida State and Nebraska (possibly Miami as well) has ever done. Led more 4th Quarter comebacks than I can remember, but Notre Dame in 2005 being the most memorable. I'm not even quoting numbers here, because I don't want to bother. With only that info, you could make a case. The term arguably was used, for that reason. And this IS COLLEGE CAREER, not Pro I'm talking about.

Even if the hour rates aren't a whole lot higher, with the duty rigs and profit sharing your W-2's will be a lot bigger than they were in the past. Very interested to see how the scope looks. Nice job ASA!

I think it was a combination. First the time, then all the negative publicity. Also the determination of all involved, from the CNC to the pilot group as a whole.

Now project a little, if the sky is falling crowd were right, the transfer of assets because we are too expensive should start the DOS.

My prediction, look for the ASA name to go away, BL and CT are gone, PBS, and all the good and bad things Skywest has. Also, either a MCO, DFW, or MEM base.
