While QOL is important it does not pay the bills!

Are you freaking kidding me???? First off, the biggest changes needed for ASA in a new contract was QOL issues that we severely lacked, and lagged behind most of the industry, and most ASA pilots claimed was their biggest wants in the new contract.

Next, the post was from an FO. Industry wide, as well as DCI ave, ASA FO's are already among the higest paid and one of the only that are paid 60% of Captain rates.

And, I stand by my original statement that one needs to consider things like duty rigs and profit sharing as total compensation and not just look at hourly rates.

That will pay the bills.

Congratulations, guys!!!! This is great news. Your perseverance has paid off, and this contract will help to raise the bar for all of the other regionals in negotiations.

Breather break for the Thread....

Hoser, Hoser, Hoser......

Matt won 2 NC's, competed for a 3rd....Won the Heisman and LOST to Kal and Texas in his entire career at USC. Went wire to wire #1 in 2004, which only Florida State and Nebraska (possibly Miami as well) has ever done. Led more 4th Quarter comebacks than I can remember, but Notre Dame in 2005 being the most memorable. I'm not even quoting numbers here, because I don't want to bother. With only that info, you could make a case. The term arguably was used, for that reason. And this IS COLLEGE CAREER, not Pro I'm talking about.

Even if the hour rates aren't a whole lot higher, with the duty rigs and profit sharing your W-2's will be a lot bigger than they were in the past. Very interested to see how the scope looks. Nice job ASA!

Had nothing to do with it. Delta management finally had enough, just like in 98. Thanks to the Delta MEC for telling Delta management they needed to settle this, it helped. And of course I can't say thanks enough to our hard working CNC and MEC, especially JR.

I think it was a combination. First the time, then all the negative publicity. Also the determination of all involved, from the CNC to the pilot group as a whole.

Now project a little, if the sky is falling crowd were right, the transfer of assets because we are too expensive should start the DOS.

My prediction, look for the ASA name to go away, BL and CT are gone, PBS, and all the good and bad things Skywest has. Also, either a MCO, DFW, or MEM base.

Most of the guys i know that work for Skywest are voting for ALPA and people like SkyNation are the exception.

wanna bet? I'll wager it goes down 35% FOR, 65% AGAINST

By the way, how long could 50% on time be allowed to continue? Throw all that into the mix, besides us good and pissed about an 8 year contract, and you have the TA.

Nope. It won't. Also, remember, many pilots have left ASA, and a great portion of the pilot group has been here 2-3 years.

This sounds like BL talking in recurrent classes. Duty rigs good, I'll go with that, but trying to figure my yearly income based on a shady companies profit sharing... not gonna happen. one stroke of a pen and we all get the shaft.

Perf. + was something we should have been given in the first place. do you really think ALPA would have said no to it. not I.

Well we will see how this works out. lets get our signing bonus and get out.

It is about time. the day we sign, if we do, we should start neg. the next one.

The only thing that will happen the day we sign is the company utilizing every loophole they have already explored against us.

Once again, Great job everyone! Who says only the ugly hang around at closing time!

Thread hijack.....

Aaron Rogers had a better game than Matt Leinart did. Aaron Rogers will be a better NFL player than Matt Leinart.

You heard it here first...cal beats Oregon and then Cal beats USC. Cal goes on and wins the national championship.

Now back to the original topic...I second the notion that SkyNation is a SAPA rep and is just one of the ****************************** bags in SAPA. Congrats ASA and thanks for setting the bar higher for the rest of us.

You're welcome, now Tell Skynation to join the fight!

Pookie,

Do you not ever learn? Kal got there @ss handed to them last time you predicted this. Aaron Rodgers did have a greater game than Matt, but not even close to a better season, or College Career.

Tell the dirty hippies at Kal to get outta the f$#n trees and start playin' some real ball. The game against Kal will be the same as last year. Kal will not run on 'SC, and Longshore better have a game like Rodgers did in 2004 to even keep it close. Now go take a shower, you smell like pechulli oil.

Go talk to a Skywest or ExpressJet pilot about what Bonuses do to your W2. I understand the mistrust, but try to see the logic. At any rate, the CNC did not have much ground to argue bigger raises for 2-5 year FO's when they are already among the highest paid in the industry.

To Compare:

Skywest 19.....34......36.......38
Comair 20.....34......35.......37
ExpressJ 23.....34......36.......38
Rep/CHQ 23.....30......35.......36
Mesa/FD 22.....29.......32......34

Eagle 24.....32.......35.......37
Mesaba 24.....28.......31.......34
AirWisc 25......36.......37......38
PSA 23.....30........32......36

ASA TA 23.....35.......37.45....39

Don't look too bad for you FO's! To me, other than 1 other regional (AirWisc) second year pay - ASA's FO's will be highest paid in the industry! What more do you want? Now, how many have the proposed duty rigs we are getting? How many have any profit sharing plan?
