Maybe they just don't want to hire furloughed mainline guys... Especially from OTHER mainline carriers. Whaddya think, he'll stick around when NWA comes a-callin'?

Certainly, but he would have been there for two years now and counting. Besides, we have hired furloughees from many carriers including Delta. I have not heard of anyone furloughed from NWA getting on with us. Makes me wonder if someone in charge of hiring got snubbed at NWA and is still upset about it.

My good friend is in the Sim section of flight training at ASA. His partner is a graduate of the Delta Connection Academy with a TT of 300 hours. So I'm guessing that this person could also be a graduate of the DCA program also.

I call bullsh!t. I work at DCA and that is not happening. To apply at ASA you have to have at least 1000/100. Thats all she wrote.

I believe we have atleast one NWA furlough that is flying the ATR.

They called me yesterday and said they lowered their mins, but didn't mention what they were. I just know that they don't require 200 me hours anymore.

The new minimums are the new minimums 600/100.

If it's true, will they ACTUALLY hire off the street (not DCA, flight safety or other program) folks with 600/100? B/c XJT says 600/100 but they seem to be exclusively taking from ATP when they are below 1000 TT.

Likely the fact that on first year pay at ASA, you'll make a whopping $25k with minimal pay and days off accounts for the fact they're having trouble attracting qualified applicants. They're getting applicants, YES, just not qualified applicants. Anybody QUALIFIED has the brains to not go there. ASA is just a sweat shop disguised as a regional airline.

$25K? Isn't that on the high end for first year regional pay? I thought at best, you were looking at around $20K or so for first year pay at most regionals? If ASA is such low first year pay, as you make it sound, what is first year pay at other regionals?

Greetings..

25K for a first year FO. That is funny. It is actually 19.02/hr at 75 hours per month guarantee. Roughly 19K a year. Still a joke to live on though

Take Care

Stop acting like $25k is a lot of money (as a yearly salary). If you get hired at ASA, let me tacitly assure you, you are going to be POOR POOR POOR on first year pay, irregardless of whether its $19k/yr or $25k/yr. Understood?
