WTF, are these guys SERIOUS??!!
Man, talk about jumping through hoops. Makes their late 90's process look like the epitome of airline hiring.
Can't wait to see what's next.

LOL... good luck, buddy! If that's the case I'll be bringing my own lube!
Just got an email from HR asking me to call LaserGrade and schedule a "proctored assessment, whatever that is.
Congratulations! We spoke with you regarding your qualifications for a pilot position with United Airlines. We are interested in considering you further and would like to invite you to take a proctored assessment which is the next step of our process.
Please call Lasergrade, United’s vendor who is administering the assessment on our behalf, to schedule an appointment for your session. Lasergrade is available to schedule your appointment upon receipt of this notification. Testing is available to begin on or after August 2, 2007. Lasergrade’s contact number is 800-211-2754. The scheduling department is available Mon-Fri 0900-2000ET; Sat 0900-1700ET. To locate a facility near you, visit Lasergrade at www.lasergrade.com for a list of centers.
For planning purposes, the session will take approximately 40 minutes to complete. We ask that you take this assessment in the next 5 business days but not before August 2, 2007. If you are unable to fit this into your schedule in the next 5 days, please contact our office at [email protected].
Should transportation to the Lasergrade facility be an obstacle for you please schedule your appointment and contact us at 847-700-4472 to make flight arrangements.
If we do not hear from you or receive notification from Lasergrade that you have completed the assessment, we will assume you are withdrawing from consideration. Candidates who withdraw from consideration are eligible to reapply one year from the date of this notification.
Best of luck to you on your next step toward becoming a United Airlines pilot.
Best regards,
Human Resources Department

Maybe your workrules are marginally better than what Delta has now,but they have better payrates by virtue of having a widebody fleet for their new hires to move into as senority allows. One has to wonder if the higher wide body hourly rate that they would be able to bid some day offsets the hit in workrules you claim they've taken.

Some of you guys really remind me of parrots. You fly around, repeating whatever you've been told without questioning it.
