Thanx Z Pilot

Anybody who's finnished the psyc get the email "We are closely assessing you application with United Airlines"etc, etc?? I would assume, being that I've been there before, that the email instead of a phone call is bad. Maybe I am a psycho!!!!!

Does anyone have the instructions (or better yet a link) for UA employees to write a rec on behalf of an applicant? I saw them when I filled out the app but can't seem to find them now.

I agree with those statements UAL-GSO!! It "funny" (in a sad way) to read these LCC pilots criticizing the hourly rates, work rules, retirement, etc., of ANY legacy carrier. It wasn't too long ago that we had an industry leading contract yet we didn't see ANY Airtran, Frontier, JetBlue, etc., pilots doing ANYTHING to come up and meet that bar. In fact, they used their extremely low, total compensation packages to help subsidize their growth and undercut our fares. It's kind of hard to maintain $240/hr. Airbus Captains with awesome work rules and a high 5 figure pension upon retirement when you have pilots at the competition (including Lear's airline none the less) willing to do the job for $120/hour (or less in JetBlue's case when they first started up), FAR work rules, and no pension.

And now we have an Airtran pilot, a member of a pilot group that MASSIVELY undercut DAL pilot scales to help subdize their growth in ATL, telling us legacy guys we need to do something about our payscales after the damage of such behavior has already been done to legacy pay scales, work rules, and retirement? Sorry man, you're way late to the dance. You should have been preaching that 6 years ago.

UAL was toast before Jetblue had a dozen airplanes. If I remember from my reading, this industry is very cyclical. Blame away if you must, but it doesn't really matter in the end, does it? UAL and Delta have farmed out tons of narrowbody flying to the likes of Mesa and others, so how do we view that? It's just part of the reality we live in. Move on.

Could the guys and gals that are getting the Psych Test and Phone calls could please post their general experience levels and wether or not they had internal recs? Thanks!

ualdriver, keep in mind that most of us at the "LCCs" weren't here during those days of high pay and good working conditions at the legacies. A majority of AAI pilots were hired after 9/11 when the legacies were furloughing and taking huge paycuts. Guys like myself and Lear70 came to work here after looking at the other airlines as they exist now and realized that pay/working conditions were just as good here (if not better) than the legacies. About the only places that pay better or have better overall working conditions than AAI are SWA, UPS, and FDX.

So, to criticize current AAI pilots for "lowering the bar" isn't exactly accurate. Now, if Lear70 were to vote "yes" to a contract here years from now that undercuts the legacies, then you'd have some room to criticize.

An external link won't get you there. Tell the employee to go to the Employee Services/People Net page on Skynet and click on the link for Pilot Jobs. On that page they will find a link labeled "Pilot Referral Form" Please note that they must provide the same e-mail address that the applicant gave when applying or the system will ignore the referral. Good luck!

Did anyone start applying and time-out during one of the pages? Can any pages be updated before the 6 months period to re-apply is up? I applied 7/16 and timed out during the process. Just hoping that when I logged back in, the system saved the rest of the app. Thanks all.

I was a 29-year old 727 Captain at a shady 121 Cargo airline 6 years ago... wasn't here then to protest, but I understand the general gist of what you're saying...

Hope to see EVERYONE raise the bar at their respective carriers over the next 3-5 years. I'm busting my butt over at AAI trying to make that happen, so yeah, I'm doing my part.

Good luck to all, wherever your career path takes you.
