Got any beard-growing advice?

Check out the last page of that glossy ALPA rag, ya know the one ya pay 300$ a month for? There's prob a 1-800 # down in Hearndon just for this.
It's prob for moustaches, but they might throw in some beard tips for a nominal fee.

Look in eDocs on FLICA. The new memo says all ATN pilots will be badged SWA pilots under SWAPA CBA prior to January 1, 2015.

Ok, so I have a SWA badge. Am I not a Captain until I go thru transition training?

If you are a Capt, then I think you should get SWA Capt rates until you go through training. Somehow, I bet they will create a vacancy for all the left over trannies to an F/O position. We shall see.

No. You are all SWA F/O's as of December 29, 2014. If your global seniority can hold Captain at SWA after January 1, 2015, then you can bid and be awarded Captain IF there are any Captain VACANCIES (key word). The soonest that you could go to training as a Captain would be March 2015, and therefore you would not be eligible for Captain pay before that date.

This makes the most sense to me and it explains the choice in dates.

If I haven't been awarded an FO downgrade class then I'm still a capt. PERIOD! The day the award becomes effective then that may be open for debate. The common sense solution in my opinion would be the day you start class as an FO then you would snap back to those rates. I hope our union and swapa are positioning themselves as united on this.

Per the side letter, you can't be a captain on the SWA side until Jan 1st. As soon as you get your SWA ID you are on the SWA seniority list.. If can't be a captain then you must be an FO. My guess is that is exactly how it will go down. The 3-4 months off will be nice though. ;-)
