    CFI renewal in europe

CFI cert is about to expire in 2 months and i was looking to renew it while i'm stuck in europe. I've only ever renewed on the basis of my pass rate, so i'm not familiar with the (online) refresher course. I also haven't actively flown in a while and am not in the position to finance any flights...

N-reg jobs / operators in EU?

Recently moved back to europe and faced with either spending lots of money on JAR conversion or finding a N-reg operator. I don't suppose anyone knows of a company looking to hire FAA cert. pilots in the EU region? Pretty much looking for anything.

    Helicopter training tulsa area......

I'm looking for someone to do some helo training in the tulsa area with. Basically i want to do a CFI-H add-on in anything except a R22. I'd prefer a Bell47, but others would be fine too. The school i went to before (allied helicopters) has closed its doors. Any ideas?

SO how does this work... ?

Recently i've been asked to fly with an older guy who has a Private pilot certificate, but lost his medical. He also owns his own airplane. He likes to fly, so he asks CFI's to go with him (since he can't act as PIC, with no medical). Basically how it works is, the CFI is the 'baby-sitter'...

    logging PIC in R22

Q.... I got a RH rating, but all my time is in a Bell 47. I started doing some flying in the R-22 (gawd, its like half the size of the -47 :)), and i was wondering if i could log that time as PIC, before i even get the SFAR sign-off. Now, i realize the SFAR specifies you must have 10...

    XC logging

I got a question about logging XC time in Helicopters. We are all aware of the FAR that says XC is any type of flying that involves a point of landing other than the departure airport. No distance specified. Now i am not talking about time required for a certificate or rating. I am talking...

    Want to hear something funny?

Actually, its not funny. It's pretty sad. Spartan college of aeronautics (thats in tulsa ok) just upped their flight training rates. A 1 shi.tty 2 is now a wuppin' $140 an hour. A 172R $160 and a 172RG $180. Thats dual AND solo. A seminole is $260. I can get a baron55 for $180 an hour at...

Notice i used the singular form - i'm not talking about the entire breed ;) Warning: This is a rant  Today (4/14) i was flying out in the Tulsa area at around 6 pm. My instructor & I decided to head on over to 0F8 to do some landings. We approached from the west at roughly...

    So.....

What could we talk about to keep this forum going? It would be a shame to see it go again due to inactivity :/ . . . . How about this question. I got close to 40 hours in Bell 47's, doing the PPL add-on. When i do the commercial upgrade, should i do it in the R22 or continue in the B47? The...

How busy is your local GA airport?

I fly out of KRVS in Tulsa, OK. It has an average of 820 ops a day. Last week (i think thurs) after 2 weeks of bad weather, we had a record of 1913 ops for one 24 hour period. Amazing, no ? :) I was flying that day too, but it didn't seem any busier than usual. So.. how about your local GA...
