Let me broaden this topic a little. What would you say is the most reliable, economical cabin class piston twin or turbo-prop?
Of the airplanes I flew, the Gulfstreams had the absolute best dispatch rate. As long as they are flown regularly, very few mx problems. Even the old GII I flew with...
I am looking for a good personal airplane. I am typed in several jets from Citation to G550 when I flew for a living. Looking at operating costs of the jets, I am not sure I want to jump in that deep. I have flown enough piston twins, that I know I don't want to go that route. I have never flown...
Better opportunities don't come along all that often, but on the other hand, your employer will probably have a stack of resumes piled high in a week or two. Do what is best for you.
I have heard not so good things about them. They run you hard, pay very meagerly and make you sign training contracts for types AND recurrent. So the only time you can quit is to time it with your 6 mos. recurrent. I heard that they have gone to court to enforce the contract.
I haven't heard...
I made $483,389,921.32 just last week.
Your posts are just getting more and more ridiculous, so I thought I would just make up some numbers in my head for ya.
C'mon now. You are really embarassing yourself. There are some very experienced pilots on this board, some who were involved in the flight tests that produced the "outdated articles and performance numbers".
You are correct there. We would have never even heard of a Legacy.
Does anybody know what is involved with registering an aircraft VP? I believe it is the Caymans? With US ATP's, what is required to operate this aircraft? Does this also create cabbatage issues when flying US Citizens point to point in the US?
I have been given the chore of looking into the...
Canpass
You must call at least 2 HOURS PRIOR to arrival and not more than 48 hours prior. When you call and set up your arrival, get a badge number from the Customs Officer. Also, you will get a report number when you land and are cleared. Write it down and hang onto it in case you need to...
BigD,
Hang in there man. You are building what is known as "quality time". Single pilot, piston multi-engine, night, wx-IFR, busy ATC enviroment. It builds charactor, experience and sometimes during the tougher moments, faith in God. Stay safe and enjoy!

Yes the door is farther aft on the G450. As G4G5 said, from the door forward, the 450 and 550 are the same. In order to give the pax the same size cabin as the G4, they added a 1 ft. plug behind the main door, so the G450 is 1 ft. longer than the G4.
Yeah, I think the EVS will be/or is available with any HUD. I thought of that AFTER I pushed the post button. The 350,400,450,550 will all have PlaneView and EVS standard, I believe. Gulfstream is striving to standardize their assembly lines as much as possible.
Asc 190
I'll give it a try. I believe the pattern on the main gear wheels is different if it has been 190'd. That is about the only way I can think of by looking at it from the outside to tell.
Gii Mx
I have not found that to be the case most of the time. Our most recent mx experience with Savannah is going on as we speak. Gulfstream bent over backwards to accomodate us with our ever changing schedule so that their schedule would work with our boss's schedule. I did notice a little...
I was offered a job by them several years ago and they required a training contract that spanned the period until your next re-current was due and then you had to sign a new one. Needless to say, I passed. I have heard they do persue those that break the contract.
EFB's
The new Gulfstreams with the Plane View have the JeppView incorporated into the system, so there are no external display units. The charts are brought up on one of the tube displays. If you have to carry a paper world wide subscription service, I don't see the advantage.
I know Flight...
I am reseaching the Electronic Flight Bags in the Gulfstreams. What I am finding out is that they are not FAA approved for the manufacturer, even the integral system on the Plane View Systems. Gulfstream is getting approval to lower minimums with the EVS system but can't get JeppView approved? I...
