Adler: Great win last night for the BoSox!!
Anyway.....The FDX MD-11 training department teaches to start the X-wind align maneuver by 200' (unless there are strong X-winds) and have it aligned by 100'.
"Crosswind landings are accomplished by flying the final
approach in a wings level...
Alright guys...I'm fixin to show some of my ignorance here.
Just been watching some Youtube videos on crosswind landings. It appears that many of the larger aircraft were actually landing in a crab--not only the test flights. The aircraft that I've flown (except the T-38) all require you to...
jtmpilot,
....and do you think that social security will be there when you retire as well??? uh huh, right...
Anyway..VEBA stands for Voluntary Employees Beneficiary Association. I had to dig into Sec. 27 to find it, and still don't fully understand it.
Interviews
What's the latest with interviewing recalled fuloughees (albeit bypassed the recall) from other airlines. Got a bud who did the meet & greet last year while on furlough, but has since been recalled and bypassed recall with the mil leave thing (hoping for a FDX interview). Any...
TaxCut?
Why would Pilot-Tax be advantageous over Kiplinger's TaxCut or the TurboTax programs? They both seem to be pretty inclusive if using the deluxe versions. Is it the Per Diem thing?? Please elaborate.
Thanks
??
Maybe it's some Groundhog Day thing..."don't forget your booties, 'cause it's cooold outside."
Anyway....Just wondering the same thing. I'm sure someone will get multiple emails/complaints tomorrow concerning the glitch.
Oh boy.
This rumor ought to be rich. I like the sound of it, but....hmmmmm. The shaken up seniority list possibilities should really make for some entertaining threads. Oh yeah--the new contract should take care of that messy possibility.
Do your homework
Have you been to India as an adult??? The lure of "overseas, exotic assignment" is seductive sometimes. Be careful. Having flown into Delhi several times with FDX, I can tell you it's no picnic over there. There are some beautiful places, but the majority of the places I've...
This may be "old" news to many of you, but I spoke with an individual after church the other day who works in long range planning. He pulled me aside and said that the 757 is going forward to the board of directors for approval or disapproval.
Don't know if anyone can shed any additional...
FDX Jump
AA,
If you are in CASS, I believe you can just call FDX jumpseat admin and get scheduled. Ph. 901-224-5420, 800-544-9040. Just follow to prompts to crewmember travel. If I am wrong....sorry.
Good luck
Formula,
While I understand your concern for someone profiting from a horrific tragedy, I must disagree. How many film makers made money from Pearl Harbor, D-day, Vietnam, the Holocaust etc....?? The average 9-11 victim's family already receives over $1 million....some get much more...
Training
knocker et al.
Mgt always seems to keep a tight lip on anything involving $$--ie..training dates etc... Seems like I've heard that there are approximately 50-60 poolies. Someone else can probably speak more intelligently than me on this matter. I'm just passing on info I heard...
Jumpsat last night with two LCA's on the MD. One was in LCA training and just came from the schoolhouse. Word is.....96 MD-11 new hire FO's going to Anchorage. The company is apparently trying to work out the logistics regarding new trainees to the Maddog, and personal moves to Alaska. I'm...
Uvsc
"Y" worry?? I went to the "other" university in Utah valley and didn't seem to have a problem with degree recognition. I have no idea why a "valid" bachelor's degree would not be recognized...unless the school is not accredited.
Go Cougars!!
Memphis area
I recently moved back here, and chose to live in a town about 35 minutes south of the airport in Mississippi. I know all the arguments about how MS has income tax and TN has higher property tax...blah..blah.... BUT....I did not want to live in Shelby county due to the Memphis...
More Rumors!!
Just flew with a senior LCA last week. Fresh from the rumor mill:
90 interviews this month
MD-11/10 to ramp up to 150 airplanes over the next three years
Buying every A300/310 we can get our hands on
FDX wants 5500 pilots by the end of 2008 (500-ish to retire within that time)...
Rumor
Was in the AOC today (sitting Airport stby) speaking with this Capt who just interviewed for an LCA position. Anyway.....next Monday was his rumor concerning the bid. Also....he mentioned that the MD-11 training folks are trying to implement a program that will put new hires directly...
Any "reliable" rumors on when the next seat bid might be? I've been hearing it'll be in the summer for quite some time, but that's quite vague. Seems like last winter, JL just sent out a quick email and boom--there is was: Seat biddous gigantous. Haven't spent much time around the campus...
