I flew with a guy that knows a guy.... really..... that is on the management side of the table. He said that eventually the pilots "would be very happy" and that drawing it out like this is posturing and typical. (Like we didn't already know.) Nothing was going to heppen soon, though.

EFB was pushed back, at least 3 months, maybe longer. They found too much stuff missing on the LIDO charts that they wanted, so they are looking at them, page by page.

Big seat bid soon- training cycle dates are ending. Ramping up MD-11 off campus training.

Oh, short course for MD-11 right seaters going to the left seat. ALPA imposed, I heard. Only 2 weeks shorter, you lose some systems time and a week of BST's. Still have to do death by LOFT.

That's all- no Jet Flyer lately either.

It seems as if everyone on the training letter has slid back either a week or two. I believe it's from placing a class of LCA's in the mix.

After this next bid, training letter is going to change again with people jumping from the md to the 72 and airbus.

I heard they are ramping up to hire 70/month starting early this year(Feb, perhaps). Lots of calls for interviews lately.

Examiners LCA's switching planes bumped everyone back about 2 weeks.

Death by LOFT= 9 events after the type ride, 7 sims, 2 days GS.

2 MD-10 difference
2 International Ops
1 Special Procedures
1 GPS/RNAV
1 QUal LOFT
2 days international ground school

More Rumors!!

Just flew with a senior LCA last week. Fresh from the rumor mill:

90 interviews this month
MD-11/10 to ramp up to 150 airplanes over the next three years
Buying every A300/310 we can get our hands on
FDX wants 5500 pilots by the end of 2008 (500-ish to retire within that time)
Euro-SIBA to become a Maddog base (1 airplane type over in Europe)

There were others, but can't remember them all.

Good luck guys.
