Fwiw,
I used Emerald Coast Intrview prep, and highly recommend it. I am at SWA now, and Emerald Coast had tons to do with getting me hired.
It's worth it!
Cheers,
NAV
Agreed. If you get a chance to bring your spouse, do. It was well worth it, and they learned a lot about the company, benefits, schedules, etc.
cheers,
NAV
Crash,
you are asking lots of great questions, and unfortunately no one knows the answers at this time. i can tell you that once you get on board, you will thoroughly enjoy the flying, company, flexibility, and LUV. pardon the kool aid pun.
all the best,
NAV
I'm a LAS relatively junior F/O, approx 80% down. I get a regular line, and try to give away, but rarely do any portions of it go. I still try to bid Premium flying, but only get that about 1 in 8 times, for the most senior guys outbid me.
My average bid line is about 105 TFP, and I try to...
Greetings-
while i agree that it is a risk getting they type rating, it will help getting an earlier class date if you are hired, and have one in hand.
i interviewed in May 2007, groundschool Oct 2007. guys that interviewed with me, and had to get their type didn't get to groundschool for...
i was in the same boat, and decided to try to get on with a major. at skywest, i was a 10yr guy, enjoying holidays off, and pretty much the pick of schedules. i honestly thought i'd retire there. but, after much discussion with my wife, i elected to at least try, knowing that i'd never look...
hey guys,
i was in the Oct class. i bought the pass737 cards, and they helped a lot. many of the guys in class saw what we had, and they ordered them while in class. i think it was a benefit to have them ahead of time, just to get some studying time in.
good luck to you, and see you...
hey guys,
this is off the subject of the "hiring pool", but the question was asked. i was in the Oct newhire class, and our whole class of 20 got assigned OAK. i think the previous class of 20 got OAK as well. as of now, no one has been awarded a transfer out of OAK yet. i bet 75% of our...
Hey poolies,
I spoke to 2 chf pilots this past week, both told me that there would be 3 classes in Jan with 24 in each class. I was in the last class of 2007, so I hope you guys all get onboard- now.
I hope this is accurate, for they have no reason to give me bad info. So, the phone calls...
Hey poolies,
i'm in DAL now in training. everyone is saying we are the last class for this year. so, i wouldn't count on any others, and if they are having one, the word is NOT out now. they also told us they need 45 days from the go order til a class can begin, so do the mental math on that...
Greetings,
i'm a SWA poolie who is lucky enough to be in the 3 Oct class. Of the 2 previous classes in Sept, where did the new hires get based? When do you find out where you will be?
How is class seniority based?
thanks,
Nav

Hey guys,
Can we please get back to the original purpose of this thread?? I honestly want to know about the pluses and minuses of Vegas and Phoenix. Thanks for letting it go.
cheers,
Nav
Hey guys.
i'm a SWA poolies that will be going to class very soon. We eventually plan on moving to either vegas or phoenix, and make that my domicile of choice. i realize it make take awhile to get to phoenix, and i'm not worried about.
my questions are, in the big scheme of things:
which...
fellow poolies,
