My buddy got a call around the 1st and interviewed on the 15th. They called him the next day to assign him a class early Sept, so its starting to move.
Good luck
They slowed hiring down considerably over the summer. But, rumour has it that in either aug or sept it will be ramped back up to 60 a month for the forseeable future. good luck and keep the faith
I'm not sure how it would work out for you, but if you really want to come home early you might wany to try to sweet talk the agents. But be prepared to head back to the hotel for another night or to cough up the extra $. BTW the pax load looks a little better on the 8th so that could help...
Well, uh... Been here a year now ; 98% of everybody you deal with is great; Got over 600 pilots below me; flying the 777 (dream bird) all over the world; oh yeah, I've worked 7 days this month.... total.
As I understand it, and I am by no means an expert, it works just like an independent 401k. Both are managed thru charles schwab. The company currently puts in 6.75% of our gross into this account monthly. It is then invested into basically any fund or stock (with restrictions of course) that...
O.k. guys put your co&ks back in your pants and relax. Its marketing, who cares. I do agree that CAL probably did score some good points of advertising/ customer awareness through this. Besides all the people from NY/NJ/CT, many others from the rest of the country need/want to fly to new...
FWIW the new carbon brakes are more effective if they are heated prior to use. On the 777, we deploy the T/R's on landing but only in idle (unless your about to pull a AF in Toronto!). This allows the brakes to properly heat and to last much longer. So it really doesn't suprise me they put...
Tough call. I'm happy at CAL and enjoy the variety of flying / equipment (nice and new/clean). But I have a buddy whose on the panel on the 727 at FedEx and is happy. Personally I prefer the lifestyle better on the airline side. Plus you enjoy your days off better when you haven't been up...
IRO lines go junior so thats what the new hires will do a lot of. True, untill Jul the deadhead pay is %50, then its %75 untill Jul 2008 when it goes back to %100. But, IRO pay is always %100. The reality is that these guys are probably on reserve and getting their 76 hr guarantee anyways.
