Any home based business success stories out there?
Wait another year or so. I bet there will be hundreds of thousands of foreclosures as interests rates go up and people aren't able to climb out of their I/O mortage debt. And with the new BK laws, people can't declare BK as easily, further making their situation more dire. The problem... -

anyone heard from AWAC interview yet?
I saw our Jepp chart person the other day in CLT non-reving and she said they are having 2 classes a month, 24 people in each class, for the next three months or so. She doesn't know about hiring after that. According to her, a bunch of indy guys signed up for it at the dulles job fair. ~wheelsup -

how do the training contracts work?
I singed a 12 month contract as a CFI and stayed until the end of my contract. If I can do that, you can surely stay at a regional flying a 1900. Furlough, firing, or loss of medical will release you from the contract. If you leave because you simply can't afford to stay, that's your problem... -

Interesting. Not according to the people I talked to at CAE... ~wheelsup EDIT: Is it per diem or full guarantee you are talking about? EDIT #2: Thanks for clearing that up bean - I was under the impression from some @ CAE that they did not. -

I think this is pretty standard for the regionals. AWAC is the only one that I know of that is single occupency and full pay from day 1, and no training contract. I'm sure there are others (like comair and horizon) but I'm not 100% sure. It could be worse; atleast those pinnacle guys don't have... -

Schedule at Air Wisconsin
I've been based in ORF since Nov. 1 (when it opened). I finished OE on Nov. 22, and have been in ORF on reserve since Dec. 1st. I will be 3 from a line holder in Feb, and will be a line holder March 1st. I would imagine time on reserve will go down in the next few months as they hire 50/people a... -

I believe they must have a working autopilot OR an SIC to fly pax. Most of the time it's an autopilot, but I have known a few select people who were hired there as standby sic's - they were ramp workers though as well. ~wheelsup -

You're right, it's totally gone off on another tangent. I agree, the time saved is incredible by using the cell phone. If everybody in the pilot group stopped using their cell for a month management would certainly take notice. Short of doing that, there isn't much that can be done. If anything... -
