A 30 day month minus 14 days of work equals 16 days off. 17 days off some months. The 16 days off a month comes from Longhorn's post about his historical average days off. It helps if you read the entire thread before responding.
Boo Hoo. Your not that important. If it's too much work, do something else where you're better compensated and don't have to work so much.
Plenty of people work 16 hour days - doctors, lawyers, etc. Come to think of it, my wife staying home w/the kids while I'm on a trip works 16 hour days.
Longhorn makes $62K a year for roughly 16 days of work a month. Very few folks in America would feel sorry for a guy who makes $62K a year for working barely half of every month.
Longhorn is a quality guy at our airline and I'm privledged to work w/him. BTW, since he's upgrading on the 190 in...

Don't forget the 401K matching and occasionally some profit sharing when looking at the total compensation picture.
BTW, it must be nice to be in a position where you can look down your nose at the low-life people who scrape by at ~$85,000 a year.

Wow, way to pull out the old "liar, liar, pants on fire" response. Very clever and well thought out. Geez, I'd expect that kind of retort from one of my children.
To be honest, I didn't apply but was rather contacted through my Congressman w/the offer of appointment after I'd chosen Navy...
