2012 hires are holding E190 Captain on the East bid that just closed. Time to upgrade at Airways/American is now officially faster then it is at the regionals.

That is not the whole pic though. It is only the very bottom few positions that are that junior. It quickly goes to 99 DOH and then a majority of the CA positions on the 190 are late 80's/early 90's DOH.

That said there aren't many numbers between late 80's doh and people getting hired now. Say 1000ish. Due to the fact that hiring really stopped here after gulf war 1 and most of the 99-2000 hires didn't return. And except for the few CEL (about 75 left) that came from the WO'd in 2004 and 100 that were hired in 07/08 the list quickly gets to guys with 20 plus years.

All together 1000 times better than the past 10 years at this airline and industry as a whole.

The next bid will open the gates though. Every FO on the West can hold captain on the East.

C'mon Abe, lets not turn this into a war zone. I'm not saying that can't or won't happen, but let's look at what we know is going on now for the new hires.

Did you ever meet Scott "NO" Kirby? :D

Yup, he blows a lot of smoke in the crew news. When there is an injunction on his ass, he won't be saying NO anymore..... Path of lease resistance. They want this merger done and us few west pilots keep standing in the way.

Just keep reading your USAPA updates , they tell you all you need to know.

:D :D Sure, with the Nic implementation, next week right?

Why wait, every furloughed FO from the West can already hold Captain on the East on the current bid.

Not next week, unless Silver rules that quick. However, it might be just in time for the next bid. September,I believe, is next.

Turtle, you and Metro seem so confident in USAPA. Do you truly believe that you will win and get your D.O.H. list?

The best case scenario here for you is it goes to arbitration with 3 seniority lists( and that's a real long shot). Do you really think the arbitrators this time around won't use the nic? Or even adjust the nic to favor the west pilots even more . The evidence is overwhelming against USAPA.

You seem to implicitly assume that the Nic is binding on USAPA. The 9th saw that too in the dissent's opinion. "The dissent appears implicitly to assume that the Nicolau Award, the product of the internal rules and processes of ALPA, is binding on USAPA."

I have never expected DOH or even thought that it was the only answer, but anything less harmful than the Nic is a win. And I have posted before that I expect the final SLI will be arbitrated as a three way based on relative position.

The present request for an injunction against USAPA is very strange (that is the purpose of the May 14th court date with Silver).. did you notice that the injunction doesn't request USAPA and USAir to use the Nic now, or even at the POR, but instead the Plaintiff asks that USAPA and USAir be required to use the Nic during SLI with APA, but not operationally before a final JCBA?

But the latest Judge, and the one ruling again soon, Judge Silver, saw right through you, stating "USAPA is walking on dangerous ground...." I guess you think she was just joking, right? Why doesn't the company agree with you guys and USAPA and just move along with your list? Oh, that's right, they probably also see major flaws with your reasoning and don't want to get sued either.....At least we know USAPA will be short lived and will be promptly voted out "by majority (how ironic) by every AA pilot and every F-AWA pilot. Sweet justice.

Bye Bye---General Lee

The "new" reserve system is still being melded.
But, from what I've heard, the rules under the new system will be a little better, 13 days off a month and a long call out to 12 hours.
Not bad for these new captains.
