What happens if the merger does not go through? Is the East going to continue to bleed over this dispute or figure a way out to solve it? Status quo seems like complete financial stupidity. Seniority is great but getting stiffed $60/hr seems insane.
Yes, because they are morons. The union is holding the pilot group hostage so that a few furloughees can obtain a Captain seat at the expense of naive east morons.

Hostage #1471

So long as the merger happens then every group will benefit tremendously.

I feel bad for the America West minority who made their livelihood obsessing over Nic. This potential merger and APA/USAPA is going to prove much bigger than their ambition and vinegar.

The APA pilot group reflects the same age demographic as East pilots. APA may do everything they can to subvert a Nic award.

USAPA won't ask for much from APA: "Just give us seniority integration that blended towards DOH with pay parity."

The west doesn't get it. They think the APA will resurrect the NIC... I don't blame them. The west is desperate for someone to help them get the Nic. The wasted over $2mil trying to get the courts to give it to them. No dice. They have begged and threatened Doug to give it to them. No dice. They have begged and threatened East pilots to give it to them. No dice. Now they will beg and threaten APA to give it to them.

Good luck, it's an ancient document that failed to foresee the wholesale changes that have occurred since its inception, it has no relevance to the new circumstances of this merger (if it should occur), and the APA has absolutely no responsibility to even educate themselves on it.

I'm still not clear on how anyone is "winning" here. Airbus top 320 Capt pay at East is $125/hr. Financial madness and an anchor on the industry. You guys have to straighten this out. This represents a loss of $40-$80K a year as compared to industry peers. 60K/yr loss on the A330. Madness.

Alaska: $180
Delta: $182
JetBlue: $164
Spirit: $168
Virgin: $150
Southwest: $216

DUI Doug has never offered those rates; if he had offered them there is no doubt we would have them. Heck if he would agree to move 50% toward them we would have them.

Why pilots are so gullible as to attack fellow pilots for management's injustices is beyond me. Ha, if I knew how to make millions by getting pilots to fight, I wouldn't be a pilot!

No, you'd be Stephen Bradford/Mike Cleary/Gary Hummel. And you'd be just fine with extorting millions from fellow pilots to finance your tyranny.

A person (or 3500 of them) that would stoop to that are far worse than any SC-- and will live with that the rest of their (nee- your) career.

It is absolutely astonishing that East pilots are willing to give up this much money year after year to satisfy their ego. Anyways, within 10 years most of them will be sitting on their egos in retirement

You guys are always threatening to become millionaires as soon as the courts give you all the money we owe you, or you give us the option to just give you your millions now in the Nic, since it is fair and equitable.

Go threaten APA that you are gonna be millionaires as soon as you win in court.

Keep at it. We are all trembling that we will have to give you millions (remember, according to you we are broke!).
