Christians believe that taking care of people (social programs) should be accomplished through family and the church, not the federal government. While I would say that most Christians are Republican, I would not say that most Republicans are Christian.

Hmmm. Although I am not a Christian, I would guess 80 percent of Repubs are.

I disagree! Christian means "Christ Like" You will be hard pressed to find 2% in either party.
Wow! talk about thread drift. However, I think just following the tenants of Western Civilization makes you a Christian. It goes back to the Magna Carta, which was founded upon Christian beliefs, you know the "Do unto others, Don't judge other people, follow the 10 commandments, etc". It has been very good to us, Western Civilization that is. Just my feelings when the Christian Right gets into politics they are crossing the line between the affairs of man and affairs of God.

WTf....didn't you all ever hear of the saying "No politics or Religion in the cockpit?" Same should apply here... Besides, it is really really boring.....

Maybe we should start a religion forum..it could go right next to politics.....

Sounds great if you will agree also to no opinions, only questions and Facts!

Like I said, someone start a religious forum....religion and politics have virtually nothing to do with aviation....especially religion

You already said that, say something else. BTW politicians put the FAA in place to regulate aviation, but other than that and passing laws that restrict/tax/incentivize corporate aircraft..... virtually nothing.

Somehow I knew someone was going to link politics and aviation.....

Discussing aviation regulations being introduced by politicians is one thing... Bashing one candidate or another based on what Fox news said is another. There is a political forum for that, same as there COULD be a forum for religion.

I would agree with that statement in the context of a factory but not in aviation! If aviation companies were run by upright respectable people that would be true but the infortunate relaity is they are not. I can guarantee you would have a Bway.1 arrival if you fatigued without the protections of the contract. Aviation is the one industry where a union needed. It's not just economics.

What a bunch pompous and elitist drivel! Why should factory workers not be represented and not be able to engage in collective bargaining while pilots have such representation?

You have zero clue about the history of unions and labor movements. If it wasn't for lowly factory workers, railway workers etc., we pilots would not have our unions and elitist associations and you wouldn't be knocking the very foundation on which you stand. REAL unions work in solidarity with other trades and skills.

Fischman, I never really went away.

Awe, that just sucks. I thought your absence from this board indicated that you followed in the footsteps of your cowardly friend with your own suicide.
