Oh yeah, you're real bright. I guess having a Minority Whip in Congress is racist. I saw the movie Minority Report, was it a racist movie? I had a minority interest in a business, was that racist. Stupid comment from an intellectually challenged individual, pathetic.

So easy to get a hillbilly spun up. :)

Lose the racism,Red.

Oh my god. That was hilarious! Hey everybody, Debbie Wasserman-Shultz is moonlighting as an Airtran pilot with the call sign of jonjuan!

P.S. Hey deb, where did you get that electrified hairdo? Jj, you are ugly and stupid.

One of the only true statements ever on this board, Bravo.

I didn't mean to have any racism in my post. The word minorities that I used meant the 90% of your pilots that may have been quietly overwhelmed by the vocal 10%(the minorities). I had to really think about how you replied. No racism implied what so ever.

And you base that opinion on what, exactly? You think you know better what the members at AirTran want than their own elected reps do? The arrogance just keeps getting more outlandish.

PCL,

It's simple, and not arogant. Every single one of my friends at AAI wanted this deal and actually expected it to pass the MEC so they could evaluate it and vote accordingly. (notice I didn't say pass it, but at least have a chance to control their own future). They aren't happy that this was short circuited. Sorry to bring you a few facts that you might not like. It is what it is at this point and I was just passing along what they tell me.

Your ALPA arrogance will go over really well here.

When you don't like what someone's said
When you can't argue against what someone's said
When you just want to keep someone from writing or speaking
When you are just plain out of answers...

Do the simple thing

Call them a "Racist"

It worked for the "Current Occupant"

Jeez man-is everyone this serious on here

Your friends are hardly a scientific sample. By contrast, our representatives were keeping spreadsheets with the names of all of their constituents and how those pilots asked that the MEC vote. In the case of the MKE and MCO domiciles, since they are so small, those reps actually took the time to call every single one of their pilots to ask them personally how they wanted them to vote. It was quite easy for them to figure out the will of the majority. From what I hear, the tally that each rep came up with was overwhelmingly in favor of voting it down at the MEC level and not wasting time with a pilot group vote. But hey, I'm sure your "friends" are the pulse of the membership instead.

Just a curious question. If pay rates were reduced for the 717, and then vacancies needed filled, how would they fill them? new hires forced to work the 717 instead of the 737? I hope you see my point. I'm old and don't have many years of flying left, but I would hate to see this squabble effect someone just getting into the industry unfairly.

Yet, more than one rep never answered or responded to phone calls placed. I'm glad you have glossy spreadsheats though. This is going to be real interesting to see how this plays out. Where's that popcorn again?

SWA hired a hand full of ATA pilots, while AirTran, (4 times smaller company) hired dozens. Not to mention the fact that AirTran had no obligation to hire any since SWA walked away with the prize.

And where did those ATA pilots start at Airtran?

Let me tell you. At a higher seniority than Airtran offered them in their offer! Airtran offered to buy a controlling interest of ATA assets and offered their pilots - squadoosh!

Gup

In the end, I see the 717 being fenced at it's present payscale. SWAPA and SW won't be motivated to pay more at this point. That offer is gone. Gary wants low training cost so he will push for the fence, SWAPA will agree leading to lower 717 cost and the only new training would be newhires as you said.

I thought the 71's were going to Delta, no wait, it was Finair, no Quantas connect, or Africa? :)

In the big picture, is it in SWAPA's best interest to pay less on an a/c with the same seating capacity of some a/c you already fly?

I have no idea if the 717 says or goes, but the payrate will be decided by SWAPA along with other contract items..if it gets that far.

It would if there is a long fence. That way the Trannies will not get the pay. They need to feel the pain for their MEC vote. They deserve nothing more.
