June 29 class was 6 airbus JFK and 6 190 wherever they wanted to chose(5bos/1jfk).

as someone already said.

This leaves 62 new hire 190 positions open and 39 new hire airbus slots for 2011.

50 of those reaming 190 slots are in bos BTW.

Not necessarily true. Those vacancies in the bid award are a guideline more then anything. Often, those slots can go unfilled or if they need more pilots on a different aircraft they will put them there. This is usually done via a supplemental bid. (I expect one, we need more captains)

This is true, it seems like there are RSA's almost every day for Captain's in both fleets in almost every base. Also my seniority number just went up like 17 spots this quarter.

The info was straight from the manager of flt ops fwiw. He said the next bid is in Dec and will have a good amount of upgrades. They said classes every 2 weeks for as long as they can see. (250 a year for the next several years)

just relaying the info given for those out there still waiting.

For what reasons are people leaving? Hired elsewhere? Leaving aviation? No retirements I would think.

Not sure I knowa few were in the Pool at Southwest that went. I know one person went to Fed Ex (pretty sure he was a Captain) Also we have a lot of furloughed AA and guys on Bypass from Delta probably a few went back. Add in a few guys who lost their medical for good and that's probably where the 17 came from. Just guesses though

Thanks 772.

I know a few guys personally that have left for Fedex recently. No doubt as others hire there will be some movement in addition to growth :)

They left because JetBlue is a "Destination Airline"...

For some it's just not the right destination. Nothing wrong with that. I know quite a few captains on bypass with Delta that will go back next year. Who can blame them, they live in ATL and can almost hold captain there. When something like 80% of your northeast based pilots commute, there will always be attrition to increase quality of life.
