When did we go back to 16 days bid period since it has been 14 the normal after the second round of furloughs?

We have not gone back to 16 days. He was saying that when we had 16 days as the norm. Sorry, I wasn't clear When I typed that! Club, I want to stay at 14 too! I dig the 7 on 7 off!

In 2005 contract negotiations the NJA pilots insisted that every pilot who wanted it should get a schedule that balanced work and home life. The CBA that was voted in offered 3 schedules with the 7&7 as the default. It does balance work and home so I'm not surprised to see that it has become the industry standard.

The 7&7 is definitely good for family life; the only thing better is having it guaranteed in writing so that pilots and families know they can count on it. It's great knowing way in advance what your schedule will be so that you can make future plans and commitments with confidence.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Flex pilots/families will get to stay on the 7&7, and the same for other frac families that enjoy a balanced lifestyle. Good Luck! NJW

I say let's end this thread now. It started with rumors and information on UpToDate company operation and now is shifting towards the broken record comparison of NJ, and now I can smell this thread another 13 pages. It's getting pretty boring now.

deleteeeeed...................................

I think all these Fractional threads are all sounding the same... There is always NJW there saying the same thing over and over. Take a break lady, find something else to do while your husband is gone, please. Nothing personal...

Like most frac families, mine enjoys the stability of the 7&7 and I wanted to recognize those responsible for making it accessible. If another pilotgroup deserves credit for bringing the schedule to the industry, I trust those pilots will post the details so that I may give credit where credit is due. Likewise, I'm happy to also recognize the pilotgroups that asked for the 7&7 after the NJA pilots got it in their CBA. Doing so helped make it so popular that it spread across the frac industry. Kudos to all involved in making a family-friendly schedule the industry standard.

I wish that other frac groups had the assurance they could keep the 7&7 because I'd hate to see any of our frac pilots/families miss out on the QOL that comes with a balanced schedule. If the non-union groups can get it in writing--more power to them. We all deserve stability.

On and on it goes, Tell your husband I said thanks then. I think we all get it. We owe everything to Netjets! Does that sum it up?

Hardly... the sarcasm isn't needed. And you left out the pilots that asked for the 7&7 next. I think it was the CS pilotgroup. If so, I invite them to post their story. It's a great schedule and I'm happy to recognize everyone's contribution to its popularity.

Netjetwife,

If there were no such thing as the internet, what would you do all day long? Get a life!

God forbid anyone without a hangy down or pilots license have an opinion...

Anywaaaay, could someone PLEASE post anything on the training slots or laoffs that just happened. I think ClubORDFO is right about the globals and FA correlation or am I missing something? Could they adequatly staff globals and 604s with what they currently have especially if they went to a request only FA basis like on the 300 to give owners a way to cut costs?

Anyone think they could be moving towards using more contract F/A's (which they use on occasion anyways) instead of salaried ones to cut costs? Apparently there were secretaries for secretaries in the office. Deadhead is up, charter is up, OT requests are supposedly up. Something's supposedly up in the training department. I guess I'm not ready to freak out just yet.

Or maybe I'm just delusional. :erm:

No Globals. Its been said before for at least the last year if we were to do it it would start under a managed aircraft program in order to build a base and support structure for the program. As well as defer some of the costs.

Approx 50 office people and 3 FA's laid off

Before we bring people back you can bet we will be going back to a 15.5 day lines.

Was told recently that there were no plans to move crews from fleet to fleet.

Do you mind telling who told you there would be no fleet swaps? Do you have any idea what the rumored initial slots at the TC are for? Would they use flexjet slots for managed global training? Has anybody heard of any instructors recently adding a new type to their belt?

What kind of office staff?

There was another thread about several (many) globals registered to the waterview address with a link. Since you seem reasonable and connected I'd be interested in your
thoughts...

If anyone with half a brain looks those globals are not at all registered to Bombarder Flexjet, they are registered to Bombardier Aerospace, which also uses the same address...there are also a lot of 300's , 605's and 40 and 45's registered to the same address if you have a look, heck I think there were some CRJ's also registered to the waterview address, but obviously we are having global wet dreams here, so only looking for them....maybe they are getting CRJ's.....

I think can99 is right. Some of those globals were first register back in January, here are the tail #'s N105ZZ, N109ZZ, N112ZZ, N113ZZ and N115ZZ. I honestly think that these babies have nothing to do with FlexJet.

Personally I find it interesting that the number holding pattern is similar to how flex has brought in fleets/additional ac before - the others you speak of don't share that pattern. I guess I don't fully understand all the intertwinings of flex, jet solutions, and bombardier sales. It does seem inherently unfair to me that most of y'all don't either. Not saying they are doing anything wrong, it just seems unfair to you guys there is no transparency about things that affect your careers.

Word around the "pickle bar" (?) is the big wig meeting from Montreal is this week. I wonder what that's about.

The slots ain't there as of today. One who knows.

More questions than answers...

That meeting was last week. I was told it was nothing special, just a normal visit that they always do

So maybe you can confirm why the Bombardier execs are at the training center today? Flightaware seems to confirm a visit on the 14th and another today... hmmm...

Two visits in one week by the big cheesies seems like more than "just a normal visit" Also didn't someone else say earlier Waterview was SUPER twittered up about this visit?

Anybody got anything from the all hands meeting yesterday? My husband said blah, blah, blah and I've heard that elsewhere too. Not like they'd actually tell y'all anything but maybe someone knows if these two events are related...

I'm REALLY hoping for something positive to keep my spirits up.

I was at the training center today and didn't hear anything about the Bombardier guys being there. Not that theres any reason to tell me but you figure something like that would leak out.

You're assuming that both flights were related to Flexjet stuff.

I was told the meeting was last week as well. Just general how are things, what are we doing to be proactive etc.. etc..

Was also told the slots rumor is BS

I would be twittered up as well if 50 people just got laid off.

Yeah Mr Mclain left when we pinned his number. Tuck the tail and leave when you have no fight; which is ok by me. I don't converse with those 604 folks anyway, I'm not old enough to get their jokes or humor, if any exists.

Dirtybeech, lmao dude!

Despite assurances from our chief pilot during his recent long-recurrent schtick that pilot levels were stable through the end of the year, it appears the company is getting ready for another round of deep furloughs.

An extremely reliable source says the training department has been told to set aside a goodly number of additional slots beginning in September, and since we're not hiring, that can only mean one thing: beaucoup downgrades. This source further stated that the number of pilots idled could be as high as sixty, with the layoffs divided into three waves of twenty.

I'm also hearing that Waterview is bracing for a mid-August visit from one of the honchos from Montreal, and that can't be good news, either.

So thanks for nothing, Beaner.

back to the main topic........Mr Dooker would you care to tell us how reliable your source is? Looks like others are saying different!

All I can say is, I consider him extremely reliable. He's a solid guy, verrrry senior, in a position to hear things we don't hear out on the line, etc., and when he approached me on the ramp last month and made a throat-slashing gesture and told me it didn't bode well, that I deserved to know, etc., I almost soiled my Hagars.

If he turns out to be wrong, so be it. I'm sure he'd prefer to be wrong--as would I.

I'm sorry I misunderstood what I was told. Executives WERE around today but at the waterview not the training center.

Maybe it's routine but I still think it's interesting.

Oh well.

If he's very senior and hears things we dont hear on the line then he must be an ACP and I don't believe any of those guys would share anything except fuel prices and vacation emails.

Do you guys not have some kind of pilot representatives that interact with management on your behalf and keep the group posted?

FYI, "some kind" is meant to cover non-union peers, acting in an advisory capacity. I'm curious if they have a system like that. I asked because I am interested in other fracs, and as a person who values information, I'm sympathetic to their (lack of info) situation.
