So its obvious that USAPA doesn't demand a DOH list like they claim, they demand a list that changes with need to ensure the west pilots are furloughed 1st regardless of DOH, LOS, or the NIC list
On Oct.1 50+ AWA guys will hit the street - guys hired in Jan. 2005, while NEW HIRES (many just off probation) remain employed
These new hires are junior to EVERYONE east and west but the company saves lots o money by furloughing out of senority and as long as USAPA turns the other cheek because its happening to the west guys it will continue. Need any more proof USAPA only represents the east?

Should you be treated other than the miserable carrot yanker than you are?Should AWA pilots be included as active pilots in case of a merger? Or should we treat them like the MDA pilots?
And this has what to do with you paying for your job at Gulfstream?The Nic award listed MDA pilots as furloughed. You can not be furloughed and hold an ALPA postion as did the PHL treasurer at the time. US Air confirmed MDA pilots are active USAIR pilots at time of merger. MDA pilots got no furlough pay and like AWA pilots were restricted in their bidding options which was wrong and being fought.
MDA pilots had jobs at the time of merger and all got stapled. Some with 17 years of service. Like it or not MDA was part of USAIR. Same certificate. Same call sign, everything. Kind of what AWA is now.
AWA pilots can dream of Nic, but it will never happen. Nic is a total disregard of union principles. It left active pilots with 17 years of service behind probation pilots. The east attrition belongs to East pilots.

Sorry for your furlough. Hopefully you will be back sooner then later. The fact of age 65 has really put a speedbrake on all the movement we had here a year ago. 40 pilots a month were leaving before 65. Average age is still very high. Around 57.

Hey Cactusboy, You clowns out west are real pros and well respected, flickin off other pilots as they do a walk around or shoulder checkin some guy in terminal. Think what you want. I've got numerous friends at SWA and they say you westies just can't shut the f#ck up when you ride on them. Get over it the Nic award is worth about as much as the toilet paper in the PHX terminal.Peachie, since any new partner in recent discussions will likely forcea representation vote.
