Being that I have never been to MCC, I dont see it as a busy destination. And since only 5% of your your flights are empty, I am even more confused.

Not bashing XOJet, just dont understand the 5% empty flights.

I thought I responded to a similar comment awhile ago, but I guess it got missed.

The 3% or 5% empty number that is out there is not correct. What it should state is 3-5% of our flights are unpaid for...and even that number is pretty high. As for our actual flights that have 0 pax on board, we average 15-20% a month. And I don't know if that is flight segments or hours. That's how we get home to MCC from the Bay Area or our other pax destinations. Very few live legs originate or terminate out of MCC or ILG. Several do though out of VNY...I know, big surprise!

Thanks T-Bone

You have put a lot of very helpfull info on this board. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Just put my app in and I hope to hear from Xo soon:D

how long?

Sorry if this has already been asked and I missed it, but how long for some of you XO'ers was it from the time you submitted your resume till you got a call, till you interviewed, till the first day of groundschool? Is company indoc done at MCC I assume? Also, where do they usually send pilots for the 750 initial? ICT? TOL?

I can't answer your questions about how long it takes from application to class date...but I know that an internal recommendation speeds that process up. We've got a class of 6 that just started today.

Yes, company indoc takes place at our facility in MCC. CE750 initial training typically takes place at FlightSafety in Toledo, though we had some go thru initial at Simuflite awhile ago. We do all of our recurrent training at Simuflite in Dallas, and have been approved for AQP (progressive checks) on our 12 month 293/297 training events, and we have been approved for a single-day AQP training event for the 6-month 297 check.

And what does your statement have to do with the FACT that working more and being home less SUCKS?

Reminds me of what one of the pilots said during my last company's union campaign...

"I miss the [plane] when I am away from it for too long...I don't need more days off to get into trouble with...I want to fly because it is my escape from the real world..."

I am interested in how you were able to get that. I have been told we cannot get progressive checks @ NJA.

I thought most of XO's flying was picking up NJA's left overs?

but, maybe you guys are the best. I mean I only got 525$ for working Christmas.

Oh. that was extra, for one day.

carry on dorks

I'm not sure how we got it either, but I know that this is one of the big reasons we no longer go to FSI for recurrents. If we could go to Simuflight with the new aircraft training entitlements we get from Cessna, we probably wouldn't ever go to FSI. The AQP checks are great, they give us the time to go thru several abnormal procedures we wouldn't otherwise have time to go over if our last sim session was a formal checkride. The last sim session is usually going over scenarios that different crews have found themselves in, as all of the requisite boxes have already been checked!

You'd be a lot happier if you concentrated on the great things in our business instead of things that suck! You'd be a lot happier at home too!
Hi YIP how are you?
Sorry it took me so long to respond. How long have you worked your schedule? When you have done it more than a couple of years let me know how you feel.
"Happier at home!" hmmm. How are things at Whales house? You go ahead enjoy your quality of life.

Hammer just likes to be negative, he works for Flexjet. Not that my company is any better but I'm trying to make a change! Good to see your constructive criticism again Hammer.
You go Freedom fighter!! How many years have you been at Cherry?

I think it is simple why NJ will not AQP anytime soon...FSI and NJ are both owned by Warren so, one feeds the other. Doing AQP would cut way down on the time and money spent at FSI. I asked about AQP in recurrent and they said they are looking at it but it is more complicated than one would think...hmmmm.sure. The FAA could care less as long as you have a program. EVery airline and now some fractionals do AQP..heck, even brand new Virgin America does them. We all know the FAA signs their name to anything. (sometimes I am not even sure they look at it) So, that is my 2 cents. Maybe with all the new hires coming and the crunch for sims NJ will have to go AQP to open up more sims. But, I venture to bet FSI will just expand and buy more. Why give up the big money especially when it comes from your own family. :)

3 1/2. Your point is?

My contract is up in March. I am actually fulfilling my obligations, so?

Hard to turn down making 70k plus a year for another job that I fly right seat and make half of what I'm making.

Got plans on leaving for the right job when my contract is up, not running to the first place that will hire me and be miserable like you at Flexjet!

Get a life!

FWIW, I went thru initial at TOL with 4 guys from XOJet. 2 of the 4 quit XOJet within the first year.

50% quit within the first year? Why? It looks like (on paper anyway) that it would be a great organization to work for.

Give us the scoop!

Yeah, XOJet looks like a good company. But these guys would rather fly with a stick in their hand, rather than between their legs. Its a size thing.

We ran into a couple XOJet pilots in Kona a couple weeks ago hanging out at the hotel. They seemed like they were pretty happy to be there. One guy was former Comair, another former 737 sports charter operator. Both nice guys. Actually ended up inviting them to our table for dinner due to the lonnnnnng wait for a table at the restaurant.

Ultra-where do you live? and is this common?

T-Bone-How military reserve friendly is XOJet? For military leave both short (like UTAs) and long (like initial/recur training...3-4 months)? someone high up in your company is coming to talk to us at Dadelians this month I think... I'm excited to hear what he has to say.

What is Dadelians?

I don't think XOJet has a choice whether or not to be friendly towards reservists...but maybe I'm wrong. Isn't the company required to allow military reserve leave? I don't know much about how that stuff works, I'm sure there are others on here that can answer that for you.

XO Jet Post Are To Be In The Charter Section, They Are Not A Fractional Company......

Netflier, you're going to have to let us know what your definition of a fractional is. Personally, I don't think you have the slightest clue what you are talking about. Who says a fractional can't supplement their flying with charter?

Even if you are right, which you are not, who elected you thread police?

He's an idiot. Anyone who spends time worrying about where someone post needs a life. How much jet card business does NJ do? Excuse me if I am wrong bu t I believe that is technically charter (FAR 135). I think the concept at XO jet is a good one, but the schedule is not for me.
