Almost certain its along the lines of Delta can send out a RFP and if SKW isn't one the two cheapest SJPs then they can cancel the contracts.

We are splitting the payrate, getting a raise. Not whores sir sir, not even close. I certainly do sympathize with Comairs situation. I definately do not want to have our gains be someones loss. Unfortunately the company controls where the airplanes go not us. I wish the best of luck to the Comair folks.

I would have to say that what you agree to fly for is a personal decision made by each airline. I am tired of being told what I need to do, what I need to make, who I need to represent me etc etc. The majority decides each of these issues.

The karma argument makes no sense. We have the highest 50 seat rate in the biz, one of the highest 70 seat rates even flying it for the same. Let us not forget the majority of our planes are still 50 seaters. Our pilots are doing just fine and not "screwing" anyone over. By the end of the month the pilots will have spoken on the pay proposal. My guess is that if it gets voted in then ALPA will not get voted in.

Until we fly routes under SkyWest airlines we will not be in a good position to get a huge raise. Quite frankly I don't feel like paying a large portion of my check to ALPA to sit there and picket and threaten to strike over and over. The fee per departure game sucks and we are all here for the ride. I agree that 90 seaters should stay at mainline. You guys forget that we do not have 90 seaters at skywest, only 70-76 seaters. You guys argue with anger and emotion not logic. If you will excuse me now I have a pay raise to vote in. It's election day.

SkyWest fortune could quickly change if US Airways succeeds in their Delta buyout. Let's not forget that Air Wisconsin invested in US Airways when they were in Bankruptcy, and as a result have a seat on their board now.
All that Delta Connection flying for SkyWest could go as quickly as it came...

We can only hope skywest loses flying and then your company dissapears with each and everyone of you F^CKS...

Nope last time I checked it had 70 seats, going up to 76 by the end of the year. Perhaps you need to go back to math class. The only way it goes up to 90 seats is if Delta pilots let it which I doubt will happen. Therefore it is a CR-900 with 70/76 seats therefore not meriting 90 seat pay.

Still a proud yes voter for the raise, no voter for the union. Also a proud wearer of the no fat chicks t-shirt.

No, but I don't hear very many of you guys saying sorry either. Someday this is going to happen to you, and all I can say is karma's a bitch.

Exactly! And Karma is catching up to Comair, unfortunately it will not affect the 90s PFTers but instead the 21st century hirees who thought they were starting with the industry's best regional. Wrong! Blame us all you want but I believe a significant portion of the blame lies closer to home. Blame your FAs union, your management and Delta. We all work for contactors and are going to get played against each other. You can have the highest pay until the last day or you can have a job in five years. Skywest is no where close to being the lowest paid carrier so there is a balance between cost and quality, Comair cannot compete on cost or quality. I have a couple of friends at Comair and really feel for them and the majority of the pilot group, but for those throwing the insults at us I say, look a little closer to home first. And then if it makes you feel any better, know that we at Skywest will be in the same situation in a few years unless we start flying with a big Skywest on our fuselage. Doubtful!

I'm at about 80K SO FAR with 2 more checks to go. Plus I work 5 days next month and will have had 200 days off this year.

Whoops, I just added it up and it's 78K so far including profit sharing and perdiem. Granted this is like being the least ugle kid at the dance but it is a contract that I'm proud of and wish others would strive for.
