And welcome to the ignore list Newman. Say hello to D'Angelo.
Ask them next year when they are captains. Any questions? Didnt think so...
I have been flying on SKYW for a lot of years, being from the west coast. You guys have a good operation with good people. However, to those of you who say you have no control over where airplanes go, I call BS.
When you decided to fly for one rate, you stuck a knife in the backs of many regional pilots. When you decided to not fight when the one rate was supposed to be done, you twisted that knife.
Unfortunately, management makes the decisions on where airplanes go based largely on what pilots are willing to fly them for. So, while you didn't directly ask to fly Comair or ASA airplanes, you provided the motivation for management to give them to you, i.e. you do have some control over the situation.
Nobody is asking for you to refuse them. We are asking for you to get your chit together and raise your pay on the 70/90. I don't care if you do it with ALPA or without, just do it.
Again, I am not angry. I respect your pilot group. I hope you have the same respect for ours. When I hear you defending yourselves, as if you meant no harm to other groups, that angers me because it is ignorant. Maybe your single rate wasn't intended by you as a slap to our face, but it is being used that way by your management, and you are allowing them to get away with it, even defending it. Please try to take a look at the consequences for other DCI pilots. Furloughs, pay cuts, displacements, downgrades, relocation, starting over somewhere else, lack of bargaining power, etc. Even if you don't care about us, do it for yourselves, because it will eventually come full circle and bite you back.
If you look at the DOT stats Delta, Airtran and ASA share the bottom of the list - wonder what they have in common? Maybe closing down a runway for construction at the world's busiest airport that peaks in excess 115 arrivals per hour has something to do with delays.Ahhh the good ol east coast excuse. Many airlines loves to hide a lot of their problems under the guise of weather and ATC. If you dig deeper you will find its really the airline that is the problem overall.

Are you D'Angelo?
I know a few people who work over at Mesa. They tell me a lot of times they will cancel flights due to "weather" or "flow". The pilots will call ATC and they are told weather or flow is not a problem on that particular route. Look I am not saying there is no such thing as weather delays or ATC delays. I am saying that they make an easy scapegoat however. I am not this D'Angelo you speak of. I am simply stating an opinion. I don't know for 100% sure however I am definately suspicious. It is just to easy to hide problems under Weather/ATC at ALL airlines.
Case in point, a couple of nights ago DL cancelled most of their late flights into SAN because of a fog forecast. Well, the fog stayed over the water and did not cover the runway. Everyone who tried got in.
I think my jumpseat just wen't union.
Good for you our jumpseat just went non union. If that is the game you want to play all union commuters will have to pay 2% to get on board.

Brilliant!! Threaten the jumpseat! Do you think you can get the Captain to go along? There you go, embarassing the SkyWest pilot group again. You are also an embarrassment to Family Guy fans. Please change your avatar.
For those of you who responded to the fact that I made 101,000 this year all ready and will clear 115,000. You made the assumption that I was anti-union. I actually sent my card in. My reasons for wanting a union have nothing to do with money. I just get tired of all the pilots that use BS line about how freakin bad we have it over here because of one rate. So, I guess if I fly the 50 seat airplane only and make 115,000 a year, then we are actually the highest paid RJ pilots around. The truth is you can manipulate anyones contract or agreement to make it look like you have a point. I was just trying to point out that most of you don't have a clue what we make over here. I am pro union for other reasons. I am not foolish enough to think that when or if we become union that somehow we are going to make 30 dollars more per hour across the board. And if your squabling over the fact that we may make 4 or 5 bucks an hour less than you, save your breath. I routinely turn down over time to the tune of 700 bucks for a days work to stay home and play with my kids.
