I can't believe its all that much better at Ameristar. You guys also, from what I hear, have parked some aircraft. In the past your company has copied everything USA JET has done. Example- Lears, Falcons, DC9, and passenger aircraft. I sure hope you have your resume updated as well because its only a matter of time now!!!

A few have been put out to pasture because it doesnt make sense to fix them up...what else would you do with them? But if you guys are so good at what you do...then why is that we are kicking ass and taking names...and you guys are floundering over there? I have tell you...I dont think it was USA's idea to use Lears, Falcons or Dc-9's as freighters but its a good thing you did because its going to make our parts inventory that much larger.

Have fun on the way down buddy...but Im sure it wont be to far down due to the pilot shortage that Yip predicts.

Kicking ass and taking names. Thats funny!! Your funny!! Don't you know that we give you all the low dollar charters. Your our customers last resort if one of our aircraft can't do the trip. Your on time performance is weak at best according to our customers. You guys can't compete with our Falcons (RVSM). By the way look up because we are flying over your Falcons right now. Hows the weather at 28,000!!!;)

Please...Talk all the trash you want but the fact remains...we are doing well as a company and you guys are not far from closing your doors. As far as the Wx at 280...its better than it is on the ground at YIP. It gets better at 450 in the Lear too. It seems to me like we can compete seeing as how we arent closing our doors any time soon.

I talked to one of Ameristars mechanics this morning before my departure. He told me about JUS problems a few weeks ago and that thiings will change overthere drastically after Jan first (rumour off-course and 2nd hand to boot). He told me that his own company Ameristar was only in business because of 1 primary customer and hanging on by a thread.

So no need to bash JUS or tell JUS pilots that Ameristar is better. All of us FR8 dogs are just hanging in there and should support eachother. And BTW all of us FR8 dogs work for bottom feeders. I seriously doubt that one is really that much better then another. They're all the same unfortunately.

I agree with you that we are all in this together. The problem I have is that JUS guys are the first ones to jump on anyone elses case. They run around thinking their $hit dosent stink and it gets old. Next time you are at an FBO take a second and ask the ground crew which company they dont like working with. I promise you that they will tell you that the JUS guys are nothing but pains in the back side. PilotYip accused Ameristar of putting rocks in their Falcon engines. My point is...all good things come to an end. These guys have been walking around big and tall for a while and now they expect us to light a candle and sing songs about JUS's demise. I hope all the guys over there find a decent place to go...just dont expect any sympathy from any of us. Do I think Ameristar is better...you bet. Do I think JUS guys are pricks...I sure do. I enjoy it over here because the people I fly with are great and we have a good time on the road. Does our new schedule suck, it could be better, but you come here and put your time in and a few years later you are off to NetJets, Flex, SWA etc.

VSIK9+, I never posted anything about rocks and engines, it is not my style. I try to deal in facts. It could have been another JUS guy but not me. BTW to quote Mark Twain, "Rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated"

Ameristar "Kicking ASS?"

Wow....this was a three year old thread or something like that. I forgot Ameristar was still out there. But I guess the old rivalary still exsits. I am glad to have recieved this thread in an email, it gave me a smile on my face to actually hear someone at Ameristar...was....proud to work there? Ameristar is kicking ass? Well, that is easy to do on the "maintenance free" program. And before VS19k gets all in my cowling....Dude I flew for Ameristar, probably while you were just watching my contrail. It was two years of my life I will never get back. I worked at USA Jet as well....over 5 years worth. And USA Jet prepared me very well for my current job in the AirBus. Ameristar on the other hand...well I learned how to fly a Falcon on fumes, how to skirt the regs, how to fly a Falcon broke as ********************. Thankfully I was flying Falcons and they always brought me home. But I do have to say, I did have fun with the crews then...and the flying was great too. I thought USA Jet was all ********************ed up too.....then I went to work there and found out just how messed up Ameristar is! You have no idea what you are talking about VS19k. USA Jet is trying to compete and did very well for a long time to fly as a professional freight company. Yes they are all bottom feeders, USA Jet was just at the top of the bottom. You would have no idea what that is like to be treated like a professional instead of strapping on the eye patch and the spurs and getting treated as such. I don't want to beat on any fr8dog though...it's all tough work, I did it for 8+ years, living on the evil task master...the pager. I'm out now, thankfully...and I am a much, much, much better pilot for it! And when it all comes down to the end of the line this is what I know. I would much rather send my kids up in a plane with two freight dogs up front (regardless of where they came from) than some commuter, military or corporate pukes. And that my friend you can take to the bank!

keep 'em in the green ya'll

Hey cruxx watch it about those military guys, what will I do with all my helo drivers. Good to see you back. Lets have beer at the wedge sometime.

Good to hear, YIP, since Ameristar sued Active this week (second time since July, I believe) for non-payment.

It was probably the customer that Ameristar flew for. The told us not to pay them because they shut a plant down for being late with the freight.
