Let me get this correct. If a company pays fair and treats you good, you don't see organization at that particular company. HELLLLOOOOO, of course not, that's what I've been trying to say. It's just possible CS figured out you get more productive soldiers with sugar instead of vinegar. You can keep drinking your vinegar. If it's so great at NJ, why do most of the pilots I see walking around like someone killed their cat?
Who let the cat out out of the bag is more likely the question.
Companies tend to replace the personnel in management over time that know how to use sugar. Sugar has always been more expensive than salt.
What you are seeing at NJA is a journey through time to a place where management has long forgot about the benefits of wooing employees. This place is all about the 7% return on investment to BrkHath.
For example...
2004.
It was fun watching upper management run around showing their
7% tattoos they just had inked on random body parts during negotiations. I still remember the video vivdly...
(FADE AWAY INTO THE PAST.... doo doooo dooo dooo).
Cut Scene to Mr. Moisture on film in a fake, cheesy looking office you might find a seedy private investor in or a used car salesman frequent.
"Pilots... nay, FRIENDS!!" (Big smile). "What we have here is a conundrum. Yes, I say a conundrum. You see, WE, US, all of us are in a bit of a pickle. There is no way I can continue to make boookoo bucks and fly around in an Ultra with my girlfriend if you guys score big with a contract. What "The Parent Company" wants is 7% return on it's investment. Now I know it's 2004 and aviation, as a whole, is losing about 38% of it's investment value right now but hey... we can do it (big Gee Wally thumbs up)!! Ya see we have costs. YOU are costs. We seek to eliminate costs. We would get rid of you but we can't we need you. Therefore I propose to keep you but for much less. Sound good? Moisty still loves ya though!
Fade to RTS.
"Hello aviators."
"Words, words, words, words."
"We need to reduce costs. You are a cost."
"Pilots, you are just the best and I think I love.... CHOKE AND PUKE"!
(FADE TO BLACK BECAUSE MR. S JUST GAGGED SAYING SOMETHING NICE.)
(FADE BACK TO 2006... doo doo dooooo dooood dooo).
Nothin's changed execpt the players and the fact that those of us who lived through that period here have forever lost the memory of what sugar tastes like. We enjoy our jobs because we now have a contract that enables us to enjoy certain protections, benefits that help us live today and prepare for later life and a salary level that is at least better than before.
... Oh but the cost was more than 7%.
And I'm not talking about money.
No sir. No one killed our cat... but at times many of us still feel a bit run over.
