Talked with checkairman today on flight I was on. Said to expect more hiring numbers through the year, or so they were briefed. Mgmt stated, yes, the 190 is a choke hold on getting guys back, expect to be hiring off the street, and those guys on the 190 for a year then bail to group II. Has a feeling bid will be out with grp II to finish off the furlough list and the voluntaries....... Just my .02 of what I heard.
which goes inline with the bid closing comm, I ran into leaving PIT after the last bid closed, which he mentioned there were Grp II vacancies, but company just eliminated them for time being....I.E. all recalls to the 190.

To the UNION bird man! You know, USAPA!!! Pretty soon we will have a joint CBA and much improved rates on the 190. Hold on Tweaker! Keep up that loyal support of yours- it doesn't go unnoticed!
What was said was Choke hold. What was meant was CHOKE POINT, as in bottle neck. There are only two sims, one of which is JetBloo's. There are only so many E190 instructors.
MGMT is stating that they expect to only need these additional 55 pilots and not hire much more before the end of 2011. I think the new rest rules will make that statement false.
That is why only 10 a month new hires.

What happened to the 300 (+) new hires projection for 2011?
I don't remember that. I do think the actual number will be around 150 at least. This is all speculation, so no need to ask for your money back or nothin.
Their RSV rules suck and are worse than my regional, just like their JR MAN rules.
-11 days off (Company has already agreed to 12/13 in next contract)
-short call is 90 minutes and there is no requirement that you actually get there in 90 mins, just be that close when you take the call. That is only improvement.
-long call is 9 hours (Company has already agreed to 12 in next contract, like current West) Each and every sequence of RSV days, the company can AND WILL call you to tell you...surprise! Your dumb arse is now on short call! How you like them apples? You can't do anything about it. They can do it every day of the year. You will have lost out on a better schedule you could have secured in a HL, Short call line and still end up with Short call. You only get a pro-rated boost in pay guarantee (72 long-76 short). It's great!
The real peach
-Jr. Man- There is no additional pay! There is no limit to how many they can slam into your anus. I say again for the dumbstruck...There is no additional pay!!!
I have longed to become a major airline pilot, but alas, this has not yet taken place. Perhaps after a real contract instead of this bastardized 1998 CBA that was taken to the woodshed via concessionary LOA's, the number of which I have lost count.
I'm happy all you guys got off the street and are back in the saddle too!Brother, I am ecstatic, and since you know me, I think you must know that! I am going to go to work happy and at least make enough to eat and make more homebrew. I am going to do the best job I can.
That doesn't mean that I am proud to be part of the bottom of an industry that has taken it in the shorts more than Ghey Aiken after he lost to Ruben Studdard.
Meanwhile, the operation leads in on time performance and many piles of dog vomit in pilot uniforms are working voluntarily over the MANDATORY PAY CAPS and taking home over 105 hours of pay in a month WHILE PILOTS ARE FURLOUGHED!
Can someone please post the details of the commuter clause? If I get PHL that will mean a 2 leg commute...
Sorry, I just couldn't resist!Commuter Clause? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! That is funny!
Silly lefty, commuter clauses are for major airline pile its!
And for the commuting clause, not sure if one is actually implemented. I know ALPO gave some things up, in exchange for such a clause, which I don't think ever got implemented. Maybe it did, but ALPO had a way of doing that. Ohhh we won this, negotiated for this, then never get final language and it would drift into obscurity, meanwhile, MGMT was able to pick a few more sheckels out of one's pocket...
It's just a memo stating that the permanent bid for Nov will carry over into Feb, i.e. no new permanent bid. I'm wondering about classes also, I can't imagine that they will be able to fill the Dec 13th class with furloughs. Just curious, has anyone in the pool been contacted?
