I hope we get our contract finished soon too, I know that you guys are waiting to see what we get in our new contract so you can base yours off of it. I've heard some good new lately coming from our negotiators, it seems that with the company making good money, our concessions will not be as deep as previously thought. So hopefully your concessions won't be that bad either.Falconjet said:Anyway, I think its great that you guys are going to hire again and I also hope that your contract gets resolved soon with some more hiring down the road to go with it.

I'll vote NO if we take a pay cut greater than 10%.UPSer said:I've heard some good new lately coming from our negotiators, it seems that with the company making good money, our concessions will not be as deep as previously thought. So hopefully your concessions won't be that bad either.
Management states that even UPS is not immune from the general hard economic times and that yes, they are expecting us to take some concessions in pay and work rules as well as retirement. I just hope that the cuts are not too deep or I will be voting no also.ILStoMinimums said:So you guys are actually thiking of pay cuts?

ILS,
I was most definitly kidding! I'm pretty sure the rest were as well. I see absolutely no reason to take a pay cut when UPS is making record profits. In fact, I expect significant improvements in many areas. I can tell you for sure that if the "hidden" B scale doesn't go away, I will be voting no. Cheers
Thanks for seeing the light, this is too great a company to ruin by us being too greedy now.Wise Guy said:You guys are right. I'm way out of line. I'll vote yes no matter what.![]()
I think what is meant by that is that we are taking concessions to ensure the profitability continues.klhoard said:Wow, now there is a line or reasoning you don't hear very often. . .
"My company is making Record Profits, so I want a pay cut"
YGBSM. . . .
Quite frankly, I'm overpaid as it is for what I do. A reasonable concessionary package to help the company grow would be alright with me.capt. megadeth said:I understand what you guys/gals are saying (not getting too greedy and keeping your job) but I heard the company is making billions. Why would you need a pay cut? Sounds like typical airline management bull$hit to me. WTF?

I'm gonna go out on a very short yet stout limb here and speak for the majority of FedEx pilots:Rhoid said:Is it true that FedEx management plans on using the new UPS contract as a guide for their negotiations? If so does that mean that FedEx pilots can anticipate concessions as well to stay competitive with UPS?
That's not a very good attitude to have if you want your company to grow and prosper. You must realize what both of our companies are up against, the German invasion, they are a serious player.TonyC said:I'm gonna go out on a very short yet stout limb here and speak for the majority of FedEx pilots:
FedEx will become a trucking company before FedEx pilots agree to concessions.
