Update on SWA f/o arrested for intoxication.

AA717 - I'm sure you do have a clean record - as do most of us here. We all suffer from the negative press of a few bad apples. (Northwest, Frontier, etc, etc.) Then lots of the public looks at all of us like we're drunks. I continue to maintain that the type of guys that drinks until 3-4 hours before his report time, and shows up at TSA smelling like a still, and endangers his livelihood that he spent years accomnplishing, and the main means of support for his family, has a bigger problem than just having a few on an overnight. Those types are real, full-time professional drunks. The just happen to work amongs us. And in that regard, I feel sorry for them. That their addiction is so out of control, and their lives are such a shambles that they seek solace in a glass is, when you get right down to it, really, really sad.

I am unaware of any incident that made any news that concerns any pilot at frontier, care to elaborate.

Your "arrection" is not recognized. Police have arrest authority granted by the either federal or state legislation. A judge had jurisdiction to hear cases. Thank you for playing. Yeah, you're right, you guys at F9 pretty much lay low. Excpet for the one fella that killed someone (15 years ago...and recently got caugh)! Maybe thats what he was talking about? ".039 and Murder".... sounds like a new movie on Lifetime. I'm sure my Wife will have it on the tivo when I come back from my next trip.

Actually, courts have jurisdiction over an area or region. Police officers, as well as prosecutors and other lawyers, are officers of the court. Thereby, they have/are extensions of the courts' jurisdiction. I went to school, just so you know.

Because of this I now think of all pilots who fly 717's and GV as being similar to this pilot (the arrogant prick) because I am so narrow minded. SS--It's ok to generalize and think I'm an arrogant prick before you meet me and get to know me. I'm willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt. I was just relating my experience with law enforcement officers. (Don't get me started on County Prosecutors...)

As I said, I've got no problem with the State Police officers I've met. Different breed entirely. TC

Article III of the United States Constitution establishes the judicial branch as one of the three separate and distinct branches of the federal government. The other two are the legislative and executive branches.

Through fair and impartial judgments, the federal courts interpret and apply the law to resolve disputes. The courts do not make the laws. That is the responsibility of Congress. Nor do the courts have the power to enforce the laws. That is the role of the President and the many executive branch departments and agencies.

So, we now know that

1) Courts do not MAKE laws

2) Courts do not ENFORCE laws. That is surprise surprise, law enforcements job (police)

3) Courts APPLY the law and make JUDGEMENTS (guilty, innocent, damages awarded, case dismissed, etc etc)

trust me, police officers are NOT "officers of the court". The courts are part of the JUDICIARY, the FBI (DOJ), FAA (DOT), etc is part of the EXECUTIVE branch. "Department OF _________" is usually an EXECUTIVE branch agency.

What about the F9 mechanic that threw a pair of chocks into a running engine during pushback, cus he felt the aircraft was unsafe. So I guess, he made sure it was unsafe. I think he got some prison time.

Yea, it's ALL NORTHWEST'S fault.

I seem to recall numerous "offenders" from other airlines such as:

--America West

--American

--British Airways

--Southwest

-- Delta

There are many more. But it's all NW's fault.
