Yes, we need to have realistic goals, and I agree no concessionary contract. However, we must work together, not apart. There are many at LXJT that don't seem to understand this.

Yes, we need to at least agree on that!
Best of luck to all at PCNL. This is simply an underhand tactic for complete closure, always has been. Exactly the same as Comair.
And yes, why should the majority at 9e vote for this when their jobs are gone anyway?
Its all a well designed strategy.

I think that we you read here or hear about on the line is just posturing. We do need to work together. And it would benefit the crj side also in a new contract because if we get a contract that has the same at least the same QOL and no concessions but fair raises as compared to the ERJ side, it would be a windfall for you guys.

This may not help, but on the Majors section on UAL hiring, a LCAL MEC member said UAL will start hiring 72 pilots per month, indefinitely. Some may want to eventually end up at DL, some may not care. If you are at the beginning of a hiring wave, your life can be sweet. First year pay may be tough, but QOL over a couple years will increase quickly, and the pay will be there eventually. I know DL says no hiring through 2013, but when it does open, it will be similar.

For any of you 9e guys who are considering leaving, get an app out to UAL now! I think the new contract is a lot better than their previous one, new hire insurance is finally included, and advancement due to retirement is almost a sure thing. Go for it, and good luck!

Wow General, that is neat.
What is United Airlines?
Do they fly big planes?
Do I get to stay in hotels?
Can I fly for free?

I bet no one else thought to apply there, so if I do my app tonight, I will probably be in class by March.

I was going to go to GOjets but this United Airlines place sounds way better....

I can't believe they pay money to fly airplanes.

I'm going to go for it!!!!!

Wow, cranky MUCH? Look, maybe AA/US will also hire a lot and take the pressure off of your displacements. If DL doesn't hire during 2013, I hope the other airlines do, so it helps your group out. Sheeeesh.

Any hiring news is good...don't shoot the messenger! On a side note...What's the deal with the hiring department at majors these days? Seems like we are steering away from a pilot hire pilot program... to HR calling the shots ..could be wrong just curious.

As a "filler" a bunch of 9E guys got the "thanks, but no thanks" rejection email, all in one day. Everyone from FO's w/o TJPIC, to CA's w/PIC, up to and including line/sim (LCA/PCA) check airman. I think the merger between AA/US just went full steam into the AA furloughs. It would take something like that to knock out everyone from "trained/trainable/trainer" in a day.

Not knocking you, or anyone else, just a "point of order" if we are going to play the parliamentary procedures routine.

If I had a vote, I would vote NO. Why? I would rather lose what will be a lousy job to see the MGMT lose what is and will be a lousier Company!

There will be plenty of hiring at UAL, USAIR, and AA to absorb every 9E pilot and much more from early next year until eternity.

Even if an agreement is never reached (Voted Down), 9E pilots will have between 12 to 24 months at Deltaknuckle before anything material happens. Before then, there will be a mass exodus to these other carriers and Deltaknuckle will have a pilot shortage and will not be able to complete flights. Let swim in their Pig swaller!

Make sure and let them know in the interview that you're "good friends" with the General!
