if this is true, not bad...I don't think an arbitrator can do better than that. Boy SWA laid it all out there. If Airtran turns this down they are crazy.
I think SWA pilots will approve this, we won't be elated by any means but...from the surface without details it seems fair (I think).

I just threw the options part in there for good measure. The rumor is 1000 shares that have to be held for 24 months. I really didn't pay much for my type, after taking the education deduction from it I was only out about a thousand. It paid off quickly though. Best money ever spent.

I agree, best money I ever spent. I think that was the motivation behind the stock grant was to put that type argument to rest forever. that's my opinion of course.

I think I would wait for the details before I speculate. That's old Gouge from the deal. The guy who posted that says he was joking. See his post called "the deal"

Here of is:

To all.

I wrote the post that started this thread. It was a hastily prepared attempt to bring a little levity and harmless mental exercise on a day when speculation and rumors were rampant. I thought that would be more obvious than it obviously was. I have no connection to anyone involved in the process and zero idea of the planks of the actual agreement. I apologize forany stress I havecaused to anyone, especially the hardworking negotiators and leadership of all parties involved.

If he is a Fredo, then you must be the loud mouthed, hot headed Sonny. You deferentially aren't a Michael.......

You think too much of me. I'm not even shining their shoes yet brotha-
I appreciate the deference though.

Slaquer, thanks for your kind words! The feeling is mutual! BTW- did you get your commendation from Gary?

What is reserve like at SWA? Do they use you every day or do you sit at home ? Can you pick up extra flying over guarantee on your days off?

Reserve is IMHO one of the weakest parts of our contract but still darn good. Highlights:

1. Reserve lights pay 85/87/89 trips based on <30/30/31 day months.
2. Each day of reserve counts as 6 trips or the greater of what was flown and you can go over the guarantee.
3. You can pick up extra flying over guarantee on a day off, any day off flying does NOT go towards the guarantee so it is money in your pocket.
4. No more than 16 reserve working days in a 31 day month, 15 in a 30 or 29 month, 14 in a 28 month. (And a big pat on the back for our line holding guarentees, never more than 15 days scheduled in a month but MUST meet the overall average of no more than 13.45 in a 31 month, 13 in a 30, 12.55 in a 29, or 12.10 in a 28 day month, so you can see the average line is WAY under what you do at Airtran all with much more pay.)

remember though, SWA will not stay the size it is in ATL for too long. There will probably be vacancies in ATL sooner than you think.

ATL will shrink in size. Apparently SWA bases size if domicile on amount of RON aircraft. It has to do with revenue on the early outbound aircraft.

We shall see, with the amount of space and the fact that the network has to be connected between the two carriers, I bet it gets bigger. If anything, TPA and MCO might be the ones to shrink. Originators and terminators will make more $$$ out of ATL than MCO and TPA.

I hope you are right but what I am hearing the actual base will be smaller than it is today. Down to around 850 pilots. There may be more flights per day but domicile size will be smaller. I am just line swine so I hope I am wrong.

I doubt it will get smaller. Unlike other airlines SWA does not ron crews at a base. So at over 300 flights a day and ATL being on est. ,it will be much bigger. But again, I could be wrong. ( doubt it though). :)
