No, seriously,

You guys are STILL talking about this? Really?

Training numbers for 2013:
123 ATL 717 Captains
143 ATL 717 FO
21 ATL 737 Captains
25 ATL 737 FO
18 MCO 737 Captain
14 MCO 737 FO
14 MKE 737 Captain
3 MKE 737 FO
Total 361 to SWA transition for 2013.

So that leaves 1000 plus pilots that have to be trained in 2014.
So much for the expedited training schedule.
Senior ATL 737 FO's unable to transition as there are only 25 slots for the entire year, meaning that pilots who are years junior will transition first. Super.

Wait. Isn't that good news? You get to enjoy your senority before you get 'screwed' when you have to transition and are forced into a SWA uniform.

I thought most of wanted to stay til the last day and avoid the hosing you're getting. Right?

I'm so confused.

No actually most of us don't.
Our schedules continually get worse as flying is removed. As a commuting FO there is nothing to be gained by staying on the AT side.
Seems you're easily confused.

I don't know about most, but there will be a group fighting over who will turn the lights off and others that are putting it off as long as possible.

Brit, what hire dates are those jr folks?

That will depend on who bids the training slots. The most junior FO's are on the 717.
There are already guys who have transitioned that are junior to me. I am a 7 year ATL 737 FO and I won't be able to go until 2014 at the earliest.
That is a big loss of pay as well.

Now I'm really confused. I thought leaving AT for SWA was a paycut? Thats what I hear all the time. I think its becuase they don't understand our open time system.

For a Captain going to SWA it is a pay cut.
For an AT FO it will be a pay raise.
Got it now?

Still don't believe it. I thought we were all good at math?

Let me try...

SWA f/o makes more that AT f/o....therefore AT f/o gets a raise.

SWA f/o makes more than AT capt...therefore AT capt gets a pay cut.

darn it....now I am confused...

So you would bid as a 89xxx-90xxx #?

To the nearest ten thousand, what is the most a an f/o made in their best year? What percentage of the f/o's could make 90% of that highest number?

For example, if the top f/o made $220,000, would the top 10% make at least $200,000?

Almost.
SWA FO makes less than an AT Captain.
Simple really.

Negative Ghostrider.

SWA/FO's numbers are most likely with minimal 'system to the max', etc.

I'm on 4yr and made 165. ZERO premium pay. I worked alot of straight time and don't belong to any cartel. I don't live on the computer or answer late night text messages.

You don't want to work that hard? Then don't. It's your choice. Plenty of flexiblity here.

How much of that was cartel work, tournament level bracket playing and working the system to the max?

No cartel. Smart bidding. 17 days off a month.

The AT guys have to learn our open time system. End of story.

Also, right now EVERYBODY is hurting for trips and cash. The Company has too many Pilots..... they don't furlough, guess what that means? We all make less..... however, this should pick up soon. So a new AT convert is infact making less money NOW, but we all are.... so we can keep everyone on the payroll.

That's good to hear. For a 9 year FO, $190K is average of 125 TFP per month. 125 TFP in 13 days a month...that's pretty sweet...almost 10 TFP a day straight pay. Without premium pay, seems kind of tough to do right now. What are you averaging these days?

786 hrs! I flew less than 250 hrs last year but I was on reserve. AT flying was slooooooooow but I live in domicile so it was a great year! I am one of those hoping to be in the last group to cross the partition. I'd rather have a better life than more money.
