T.O.,

Is Bill incorrect in saying that: 1. ALPA has no place in SWAPA transition talks, 2. Your transition team members were at the Process Agreement negotiations, or 3. The Process Agreement deals with SLI issues exclusively?

Thanks

I think this is how it works:

AirTran ALPA- Merger Committee (MC) deals with SLI. Transition Team (TT) deals with Process agreement.

SWAPA - Merger Committee deals with both of the above.

Since SWAPA's structure uses their MC to deal with both agreements, ALPA decided to use both its MC and TT to work on the Process agreement. When the SLI talks begin only the ATN ALPA MC will be involved.

L.H. elected himself to be a part of the AirTran Transition team. I'm assuming that's why he's there.

If I just stated the obvious then I apologize. If I screwed it up then I'm sure PCL will correct it. :)

Mostly correct. The Transition Team wouldn't normally be involved in process agreement talks, but since this isn't an ALPA/ALPA merger, there are some extra items in the Process Agreement that need the involvement of the negotiators. LH didn't "elect himself" to be on the Transition Team, he's just automatically a member of all committees as the MEC Chairman. The only exception is for SLI, when only the MC will be present for negotiations.

So tell me again. What does ALPA have to with these talks? You can use all these acronyms, but why dont they focus on things like scope with, I don't know, say...UAL/CAL? Let's move forward, what about DAL and

it's funny that you ALPA cats wouldnt give a cr@p about this if it was a an Alaska/Bedford transaction. Or an Orenthal/Hawaii scenario, wait, that did happen, and remind me how that turned out?

.

I only have two words for the citrus guys......Holding Company...or maybe staple staple ???

You mean transitional items that you want to drag into the process agreement. Don't you? I've been ALPA before, I can read between the lines.

PCL

That doesn't make any sense. The process agreement is part of the SLI:

Process Agreement:
The procedure for SWAPA and ALPA to negotiate an integrated seniority list. This agreement is specific to our seniority integration talks

I bet Steve Chase isn't there.

I agree with Lear, this serves no purpose. I'm all for holding to our position, but just trying to rile up the other side to no logical purpose doesn't help any of us out. Just my two cents.

Fraternally,

Blah Blah Blah.......

I know lets take a staple to the bottom of the Air Tran list because we all want so much for them to be happy when they get here right ??

I am sure that they still would still find something to complain about even if we did that for them.

ALPA's only mission in this deal is to burn the Southwest house down, I only hope it takes 20 years for them to succeed. They are going to drag their feet until we all get the same deal that the America West guys got !!

"Blah, Blah, Blah" was right. You should have stopped right there. That was the most intelligent thing you have written.

Johnsonrod,

When did you NOT get hired? Your legendary anti-Southwest spin has to have something behind it...

You weren't the guy who got fired in training were you?

I don't think there is anything in the proposed process agreement that doesn't belong there. You are welcome to disagree, but that doesn't make you right. There are two sides to this negotiation. SWAPA will represent your interests, and ALPA will represent ours. No reason to get upset about it.

I bet Steve Chase isn't there.

You have your structure, we have ours. Why are you worried about ours?

Why are you worried about ours?

The same reason your members are worried. ALPA sucks and if ALPA is allowed to run free it will screw this deal up for both sides and nobody seems to trust you.

I'm not worried at all, i'd much rather have ALPA representing me than NPA.
