Shoulda stayed in the Air Force

Any Major, living in Hawaii with dependents

$142,145

(6978.16 ((monthly pay)) x 12 = 83,737)

(2784 ((housing allowance)) x 12 = 33,408)

(annual aviation career incentive pay = 25,000)

All mandated by law.

Serving our country.... Priceless

Back to the Future

$395,889.75 / FedEx / A-380 Captain / 19th yr

Oh...wait a second...its not 2020 yet...I got a little ahead of myself.

21K GIA 1900 FO 1st year <---Pimp comrade
15-17 days off a month/6-8 legs a day & crappy overnights
452,678 landings (at Marsh Harbor) <----ok, that one is a lie

this is a great post since the jumpseat has disappeared

Now more then ever pilots are realizing that any career move means more then ever...When we we're able to ride the jumpseat with any airline and vice versa we could talk with any pilot and find out the real time opinions of what was going on at all our persepective airlines and decide what was fit for us......
We all know what matters, PAY, TIME AWAY FROM BASE, AMOUNT OF FLIGHT TIME...
QUALITY OF LIFE IN A NUTSHELL, from job security to the amount of bread we bring home to keep the bitches off our back....
Me QX,
$28989 4th year FO
average 92 hrs every 35 days of flight time
400 hours time away from base average 35 days...
Any ABX, DHL, ASTAR guys wanna help me get on there, I invit you to PM me...That's my dream job, wish I could have upgraded by now, got plenty of pic but not 121. Have applied with no response, wish I knew somebody, unhappy where i'm at because of the lack of movement, only because it stops me from going somewhere else, otherwise a good company, just to much work, but getting use to it, kinda, no not really..

Other professions, Just finished ourtaxes and the wife again is the bread winner here. 71,233 for an radiologist tech for MRI and Ultrasounds. 4 days a week, 8-6, weekends off, home everynight and the best part she can get a job across the street at a different Clinic starting a the same if not more and it requires only a 2 year degree. If we only knew what else was available

My upbringing taught me it to be rude to say or ask what one earns.

I'm I the only one who finds this thread classless?

Your upbringing should have taught you grammar and spelling.

and yes you are the only one, nutsuck.

It looks to me that the freight guys won this game!!!
Not even close if you ask me.
I know I would have gone to either if they called
me. Oh well,

$90,136.25 3rd year / FO. Did not fly extra. Average work days per month 13.

You need to get your ars to work blue. Aren't you watching the scoreboard in your crew lounge? I did 96,473 in my 2nd year. Thats with two full months at first year pay. 810 block hours. 15 days a month off average.

Hey Anus....

You said:

"Why yes.... and so do all of the people and clients who know me."

My apologies...didn't realize you made extra on your knees with your "clients."

Your pimp give you a W-2 for that part-time job? or is that pay all under that table.

You Dique...

I thought we already discussed this.

Your wife IS one of my clients. As far as the money.... I'm not sure where she gets the money to pay me. You have a joint checking account right? Then my guess is that its probably YOUR money she pays me with.

All I can say is thank you!!

BTW - Nice house...

Great!!!, now this is turning into I flew your Wife and she paid me with your money thread. Real professional guys, way to hold the bar up on the profession. This profession is falling apart... first its guys claiming what they made... whats next? My airplane is bigger then yours?

I've been noticing that I don't get the respect from my neighbors like I use to. Even when I wear my hat while cutting the grass (riding lawn mower) they just don't look up to me anymore. Maybe its because I work for SWA and I'm arrogant?

Maybe. But more likely because they don't... or couldn't. ;)

Some here definitely need to be more humble. Just because one hides behind a mask doesn't mean it changes your character. It just allows us to be more courageous.

I have always thought talking about money was crass, too, but in the context of an (anonymous) industry message board, I think it's good information to have.

Some surprises in there, too be sure.

FWIW- a certain very lazy AirTran FO on 3rd year pay only broke $65K . . . but he never picked up any trips, and dropped whatever he could. . . . good thing I (err, I mean HE) married well.

If you think this thread is crass, then you're a hypocrite if you've ever participated or followed any of the other threads about pay rates here, pay rates there, Comair plus this or strike, Mesa screwing us all, etc, etc. Pay rates are one thing, but it is in the W-2 where the rooster comes home. So why not discuss the W-2, after all, nobody really has any idea what it all means merely by looking at the rates on airlinepay.com. You've no idea what kind of quality of life, and actual take home income any of those rates represent. If anything, W-2s and quality of life are what you all need to be discussing. Because in the end, it is all that truely matters.

If you think this thread is crass,

Actually, what I wrote was that talking about money is crass, but that I thought it was OK in the context of this message board.

Perhaps you ought to learn to read for c-o-m-p-r-e-h-e-n-s-i-o-n.
